It's the same as off line dating. Off line people can still lie to you and give you false information. If you want to see the person theres alway's webcams. On line dating just like off line dating can be just as dangerous. That's why you don't give anyone your address on or offline or any personal information until you fully trust that person.
Seeing as how i'm married it's probably not a question i should bother answering, but i'm gonna put my two cent's in anyway ( if you knew me you wouldn't be surprised ) I would want to get to know someone first, not deeply - but well enough to know we have a little bit in common with each other... if she and i thinks a date is o.k. fine ( remember, she's probably questioning the wisdom of a date just as much as you are - unless your'e only interest lies in getting laid - then your'e just plain foolish ). When dealing with the net i expect a little imbellishment, but i don't expect a flat out lie, if thats what i get - then theres no need for me to turn tail and run ( unless she wants to knock over the 7/11 with me as an accomplice ). Integrity is a big thing to me - so i'd have to see it through, besides it's not like your obligated to a second date .
It depends on the person... I mean, I have met someone I was talking on Facebook but I knew he was a cool guy and not fake
Many guyz have asked to meet me, but I say no to almost everyone :)
I see nothing wrong with it but I by nature am a skeptic. Unless I really get to know someone and feel 100 % comfortable with the person, I guess I would be somewhat reluctant. You can't be too trusting these days !
Of course my dating years are long gone...but most first dates are unknown...it is about getting to know a person.... often reading posts online I can get an attitude that I would like know this person better and face to face for lunch is fine with me...why not....gentleman and lady can have pleasant encounters online... that can lead to

When I was a teenager, I had my share of online "boyfriends". I never met any of them face to face.
I did meet my partner online but we didn't start officially dating until about two months after we'd met face to face.
nope U either meet them or wouldnt give em time of day, I dont consider it a real relationship until you have spent real times together in the same room. It becomes very different once you meet.
I couldn't though date someone JUST online. Obviously!!!!
