Not in a million years but I do admire them for their capability to handle their lifestyle!

Freak no I can't. Do you want me to die from boredom? I need my 15 minutes of music each day to survive.

Actually, I am Mennonite. I have electricity but use it sparingly. I have a computer and phone line, obviously, but have no telivision in my home, noradio, and few electric lights. I drive a black truck w/no chrome and also have horse&buggy. I, my wife and my children (there were 8, 3 still at home)live on a small home farm and my wife teaches @ a local school. We go to church every Sunday, where I am a deacon. The computer is for My wife's work, news, schoolwork for the children, and some entertainment. P.S. my electric bill runs between $15-$50 a month and there is little stress compared to an English lifestyle so my lifestyle has it's advantages. I would have it no other way. The bible says "ye are in this world, but not of this world" and teaches that we are to be separated from sin and temptations.

Are you messing with us? If not, I have to respect that. Do you get any type of tax break being Mennonite?

Maybe if I was born into it and did not know the feeling of having it, but now that i know what it is like to live with electricity and a car, it would be very impossible to give it all up.

I am way too outspoken, probably too much for my own good.
And no rock music, no TV, no hockey, no football...not a chance...

I lived around the Amish for about seven years. There is a lot to learn from them. They have storng family values, are unselfish ,and always there to help their neighbors. They may reject some of the modern day comforts and the goodies that go along with them, but they are what our ancestors hoped we would turn out to be.

Guess I've just gotten a little spoiled, but I like my all electric house, although sometimes the bill is not so nice to pay.

Even if I wanted to, I am addicted to the internet....it isn't my fault. I got involved before we knew it was addictive.

I'm too spoiled....take away my internet, cell phone Nintendo DS....and I would die. Besides, I don't like to cook and I think that is a requirement.

I think a little modesty might be attractive actually - leave a little for the imagination.
