According to an article in The New York Times, Botox injections could hamper subjects' ability to empathize with others because of its affect on face muscles.
And that doesn't just mean that Botox users can't emulate the same expressions as other people. A study conducted by professors from USC and Duke University showed that Botox users are even worse at recognizing facial expression.
Interestingly, the study also showed that people who had to work harder to make facial expressions (a gel was used to make it more difficult) were actually better able to recognize facial expressions in other people.

Women with Botox were significantly less accurate at decoding both positive and negative facial expressions than those who had used Restylane, whose abilities closely approximated those of plain old wrinkled adults. On average, the Botox group guessed 2 more out of 36 facial expressions wrong.

Voila!
Secondly .. I have a theory that the ones who are choosing this Botox (and to voluntarily go under any form of Plastic Surgery .. in other words, there's no medical need, it is sheer vanity) .. these individuals are already Lacking in terms of Emotion .. self-esteem .. so it would necessarily follow that their ability to recognize emotional content via facial expressions of others would be limited (by the nature of their own lacking that function personally).
(In other words .. doubt the results of the study .. seems to me they didn't account for all the necessary test groups .. nor monitoring needed .. so that the study could have some validity overall).
Keanu has perfected this art. :P
