I grew up in a Jewish community. My classmates were predominantly Jewish, all of my parent's friends were Jewish. We were white, middle class, as were all of my friends. Probably, had I stayed in that neighborhood, I would not have branched out very much. However, I intentionally wanted to live in neighborhoods where there were more diverse groups of people. I now have friends who are black, white, asian, and while most of those who I know are American, my good friend is from Switzerland and another from England. I have very close friends involved in Judaism, Buddhism, Scientology, many who are Christian, and a few close friends who are Atheists.

Before moving I went to a Catholic school and I hated it because all I got were one sided arguements, we never got to see the other side. Now I'm more open to a lot of thiings and have friends that are Atheist, Agnostic, Christian, Buddhist, Asian, Caucasian etc...
my Mother is Christian but is open to all faiths and all possiblities and she loves everyone
I am Pagan and I love Everyone and I hate nobody based on the color of thier skin or Sexual orientation
My aunt Anette married a Jewish Italian, which is my uncle Bob; my aunt Eva married my uncle Drew who is White, and so on. My brother, cousin Chris and older sister are gay; my uncle Scott is gay who is the brother of my uncle Drew and so on....it's a mix bag and so are my friends.
decades before we were all told to value this stuff. :O)
Two of my friends are Catholic. The rest are either Anglican or Atheist. Only one wasn't born in Australia though.
