I had A job that offered free lunch to those of us that worked in the field,it was always some sort of unhealthy crap like burgers or pizza and then in our newsletter they would give advice on healthy eating habits.I guess when they were footing the bill, cheap was better than nutritious.

But I usually say no. All you do is eat at work here and it's not good when you're stuck at a desk for 7.5 hours like me

Perhaps next they could tuck them in and read them a bedtime story. Hmmm, I wonder if they have to include that on their tax returns as non-monetary compensation?

A lot of the tech companies take great care of their people. I have beta tested software for Adobe, Microsoft, Broderbund, and a few others and going to their places is really interesting. They have these real nice dining areas and you just go get a apple or drink or doughnut and go back to work, very nice digs and no paying for anything.

the company i used to work for provided breakfast, lunch , and dinner! they even included housing ,clothing, and health care! and were strong believers of on the job training.now there was drawbacks. especially for those of you who have been around colleges for awhile.they expected you to be productive and they expected results! but still all in all i think everyone should work for this company for at least a little while. say at least four years.

Hay the company offering me free breakfast and lunch I have no problem with me that would be a extra dollar in my pocket. The economy is rough right now. Gas going up,rent and mortgage going up, the MTA talking about another fare hike and the some/most of the food that you shop at your supermarket is going up. SO IF THE COMPANY IS OFFERING WHY NOT.

cause I found that if you leave & have only 30 minutes,Traffic & slow wait staff at the eatery waste time.

Company meals are provided once in a while, but enjoyment is normally not part of the equation.

Heck yeah! My workplace gives us bagels one Monday, and Little Caesar's Pizza the other Monday, and they just rotate that way throughout the year. It's great. Then there's the Summer BBQ, the Christmas party, and the start of the year "town hall." I love company meals.

Sounds good, but it probably costs you at least $1 an hour in reduced wages. Nothing is ever free.

I found a weekly or even more often meal for all the employees did wonders for moral. And they got to know one another as well outside the confines of IPR's of work.

Actually out here in Las Vegas, if you work in a casino you can eat free @ most of them) or at an incredibly reduced rate (the really small ones), dependent on the size of the casino. It 's part of the compensation of your job. It is a great idea!

When i worked at the casino in Atlantic city, depending on which shift one worked they fed you and well, the choices were amazing, and free of charge, it makes for nice savings considering what it costs to eat now a days exspecially if one is dining out.

That's nothing. How about Google with two dozen cafés and dining rooms scattered throughout its Mountain View campus. There’s tabletop hotpots and dim sum at the Asian-themed Jia, Basque-style tapas at Café Pintxo, and roasted black bass with parsley pesto and bread crumbs at the haute cuisine Café Seven, rumored to be the best of the Googleplex. There’s a classic American diner, a Mexican taqueria, a massive salad bar with count ‘em three different roasted beet salads, and eateries dedicated to vegans and raw foodists.
And you should see what Facebook has in its cafeterias.
