Another icon lost to the sands of time. She was always a funny, funny woman, and along with the likes of Lucille Ball and others, was an advocate and inspiration for the generation of comedians and actors to come. She is just one more of the greats, now gone forever. Love ya babe...RIP

She was a wonderful comedienne when comedy was 'clean' and funny! She chose to talk about her personal life with "Fang" her husband, and her lack of cooking skills.... RIP Phyllis

Of course. All accomplishments made are based off of efforts and achievements from a previous generation.

Yes, you own a multimillion dollar restaurant, but your customers can only get to you because of the roads that were built before.

She was the "Queen of comedy"! Phyllis Diller was before "Lucille Ball", "Joan River", "Carole Barnette","Ruth Buzzy" and "Goldie Hawn"! I'm glad we had this time together, remember the "Perry Como Show"?? R.I.P. Mrs Phyllis Diller!

Yes, I grew up watching her on TV and she would poke fun of herself and always make me laugh. She was the first female comedian I recall being on television. Joan Rivers came later and she too led the way for women in this field. Phyllis Diller was a one of a kind personality. Lots of fun and I can still hear her laugh and see those crazy wigs of hers. She was a gem!

Absolutely not. She sucked. She opened the door to Face Lifts . . . But that's about it. I can still remember when she did Detergent Commercials on TV back in the 60s . . . She sucked, then. So what?

She and Lucille Ball did a great deal of door opening in different areas of comedy.

As was Lucille Ball, Phyllis Diller was one funny lady and she will be very missed.

Are you kidding me? I group her in with all the comic greats from the vaudeville period. That was a seminal 'big bang' as it were, for all of modern standup.
