"Christians" making Christians look bad?

I consider these Westboro folks to be completely psycho and strongly agree with the TC. But I've had some pretty extreme experiences with fundamentalist churches as a kid. These people were here recently protesting Billy Graham and there was a huge counter protest protesting them. This is one of my favorite songs to play at Christmas time.

As a Christian we hold to our beliefs as good Christians should. We are not obligated to conform to the failing society we were born into nor to tolerate something our beliefs do not condone!!! I am not preaching hate but the fact that when ATHEISTS go around criticizing God like a tool you expect us to sit back and act stupid, I stand up for what I believe in and if I am against my Pagan culture so be it!!!

Anyone who goes around picketing funerals is simply not a good person. Same goes for those who think anyone who believes something other than what they do is going to hell.

Not all Christians are bad.

They are no different than any other group. But unfortunately they seem to think that because they have faith that brings them up to some kind of level above others who do not.

All you have to do is look to the vatican and the pope to see the evil inside of religion and I would much rather association with Atheist and Pagans that be involved with the evil in religions.

Not all Christians believe in the pope. As I have said that before. But you seem to only believe what you maybe have personally experienced or what you know about the pope. And as JesusIsMyGod said, "Not all Cristians are bad". Just like not all Atheists are bad. Its not evil that is in religion, its evil that is inside people in general.

I don't think evil is confined to religion or to people. I believe it is when people choose to accept evil that is is taken inside, be it an organization or a person.

However, christians have said that "ALL" Atheists are BAD. with out exception.

Not EVERY Christian has said that though. And not all atheists think all Christians are bad.

I know several recovering Catholics; one of them was raped by a bishop. And I went through some rough times with fundies myself, when I was a child. I think it had to do with the idea that they were 'forgiven' every Sunday and were free to do crazy things at other times, then go get 'forgiven' again. I try to follow the ancient teachings of Christ but I don't buy into that. When it's all said and done I believe we judge ourselves. The fundies turned me into an Atheist as a child, then I became Agnostic. After a NDE I stepped onto the NA Red Road since the belief in all being One seems to fit my experience. ~ Mitakuye Oyasin. ~

I have yet to meet a Christian who wasnt a Hypocrite.....I love the way Christians claim that those in their cult that do bad things "Are not really Christians" and then I look at statistics.. Prison Populations, Divorce.. Child Abuse, Guess who leads the race in all of those fields.....

Alight so there are real Christians and there are Christian wannabees. Real Christians don't go around telling people that everything they do are wrong and a sin, and that they aren't going to heaven, they accept people for who they are, tries to stop people from doing something, and saying things that they will regret of the rest of their lives, so in other words they're happy, and nice people who wants people to get along, love each other, and wants to bring peace and joy to this world, and also wants everyone to go to heaven like myself. Okay now onto the Christian wannabees, they are the opposite of a real Christian, basically they use God and Jesus to force people to do everything they do and say everything that say and if not than they tell that person that God doesn't love him/her and they aren't going to heaven witch is wrong, so don't let the Christian wannabees fool you they are pretending to be Christians that's why I call those people Christian wannabees. I understand why you feel that why, trust me those aren't Christians, they are wannabees.

I agree with you on that. The problem is that most people runs into the wannabees and thinks that all Christians act that way, but they need to realize that not all Christians act that way, so what they have to do is just ignore the wannabees, and look for people who really works for God, and doesn't pretend to do.
