Charlize Theron Adopts a Baby Boy: Would You Ever Adopt?

We have enough people in this world as it is. We can slow down. It would help with population control. Also, not to mention that there's way too many foster children as it is. They deserve to have Parents who will care for them and love them! <3

If I really wanted a child, I would like to adopt someone 18 or older who will then support me financially and all, while I give them the sense of family they never had!

Years ago my husband and I had talked about adoption, but apparently it wasn't in the cards for us, as he was in the navy at the time and I got PG. pretty quick and just a couple years later, PG. again and later [ unexpected ] PG. again. I pretty well had my hands full by then...and I was one that wanted many kids, but saw I couldn't handle any more than what I had, but if anyone asked me what I thought about adoption, I always said they should if they could.

Not in our foreseeable future.

IF I couldn't have children myself already. But, I have adult children and 2 grand kids that I already raised. Time to rest for me.

I did adopt, a little 2 yr. old boy who just turned 18.

If I couldn't have one with the man I was with and plan to stay with I'd adopt.

No kids for me. Never wanted, never have'em.

I wouldn't mind having a couple extra million people in America that are already alive instead of inflating the population balloon like nothing is going to happen. Alabama is starting to turn into a "slum" like place and in high density populace areas it just gets bad. We have untamed land as well in Russia, Canada, and Greenland just to name three.

I am a little old for it now and Lord knows my husband and I have way more than enough..altho we have thought of fostering..but back to question, had I not been so fertile and things had been right yes I would have adopted. And I totally think its awesome when someone adopts especially some from our own country. I also see no reason why a same sex couple should not be able to adopt if they are stable..a child needs a home..and they have one to give.

Our children are grown, but we did seriously consider it at one time. We are encouraging our children to consider it also.

..yes and no..yes, I would have when I was much younger, but I'm a little old for that sort of thing now...

I want children someday but am not sure I want to go through pregnancy, plus I think it's a good moral choice to adopt a child who already exists and needs parents rather than making a new one (though that's okay too).

As my Mom always said, "adopted children are not just given, they are CHOSEN".

If I could provide everything necessary for raising a child, I have no problem adopting. One day I do plan to, in the future.

21 years ago I adopted a 3 yr. old boy with cerebral palsy who 23 heterosexual couples had met and turned down. His foster mother was beginning to despair that no one would adopt him. I took one look at him and knew this was the child God had told me He wanted me to adopt and I did. His prognosis was poor, he had spastic quadrapharesis. Well he ended up in Rochester's school of the arts as a writing major and went on to Niagara University where he earned a B.A. Today he is employed by Paychex. Along the way I became second father to a Partner's daughter, and took on one of my brother's daughters abandoned by my brother. There are hundreds of thousands of children available for adoption in the U.S. Those of us who can't have biological children (I was born sterile AND I'm gay) are here to love and raise those children left out, thrown out and left behind. Have an unwanted pregnancy? Don't abort the baby. Don't keep a child you don't want or can't care for. There is a 10 year waiting list for normal newborns right here in the U.S. Don't forget - Jesus was adopted by Joseph. Not a bad example.
