It's not everyday that you get recommended the cat for your dinner entree. But that is exactly what celebrity chef Beppe Bigazzi did live on television. The Italian chef and food writer was fired from the Italian Television show "La Prova del Cuoco" for recommending stewed cat to viewers and claiming it to be a "succulent" dish.
He also went on to say that it was “better than chicken, rabbit or pigeon.” Too bad it is illegal in Italy to kill a cat. But that didn't stop Bigazzi from continuing on his cat-stew tirade and going on to say that he has had the dish multiple times.Well, that must mean it is good right? Would a cat casserole be something you would eat?

+6Just reading that made my heart sink into my stomach. Its terrible! I actually feel like crying right now. Who would eat cats?!? Thats like cats eating us! Its not right and I think he should go to jail. LIke dont get me wrong, I am over exajurating but can you blame me...??
Most do already know about dogs and cats being eaten. I have to wonder how many realize china skins our companion animals ALIVE. Animal rights is working on this type of behavior. No I don't condone eating meat, I also don't condemn those who are conditioned from birth to eat farm animals. I do hope they educate themselves to the health risks though. If we can only educate children at a young age and teach compassion and understanding, tolerance for all Gods living creatures. I truly believe if we can teach nothing but love, compassion, empathy for animals while young, the human race might just have a chance to start actually caring about other human beings also.
but then again u did hit it right on the spot.. the human race start to actually care about the human race, the animals, and the planet.. Now that is the question that needs to be addressed..

I have a cat, and while I would not eat him, I would also not be averse to eating cat or dog meat. Western society finds this distasteful for some reason, yet many of the same people enjoy a good steak or burger, which would be reprehensible in the mind of someone from India. Certain religions prohibit pork while others freely dine on ham, bacon and hot dogs. Some people eat animals such as rabbit or snake, while others in the same society keep them as pets. It may be due to individual upbringing and how we are taught to think of the various animals. I have eaten alligator, antelope, buffalo, ostrich and numerous other exotic creatures. Also, when one is literally starving, one's priorities quickly change; just look at the Donner Party for evidence of that.

The problem that most people have with this is the same problem some cultures have with eating horse flesh. "These are our pets!" No, unless they are actually your, or someone else's, pet, then it's just another animal. However, because people have the hang-up about equating some strange cat with their pet, they are disturbed. I'd bet that guinea pig owners would be revolted by the thought of cuy.
I love cats as my family how could I ever eat them. That is repulsive and makes me mad that he was not jailed for cooking cats. In the USA, you would be jailed for cooking your cat we protect our loved ones.

I only eat cows and chickens because they were bred and slaughtered for that purpose: Its instinct...plus, being vegetarian nearly put me in hospital despite my taking vitamins and supplements and no one knows why
