Do you like ceiling fans better or the kind you can plug in anywhere, like a box fan, desk fan, or stand fan?

We have ceiling fans all over my house. Work much better than a plug in fan. Especially because we have many children in the house, they can't reach the ceiling fans to mess up their fingers.

I don't even consider a ceiling fan to be a real "fan." I sleep with a fan every night and a ceiling fan would not cut it!

Prefer a ceiling fan, but you can't always have it set up that way.

My room doesn't even have an overhead light, I had to make a lamp. Okay, so I made the lamp just for the heck of it, but I got to use it when we moved here.

We have three portable fans so we can use them wherever they are needed.

I liked the look of ceiling fans at the beginning when they came out over here, but then I realized that they limit your moving around the house while staying cool.Unless you have one in every room. I find portables fans cheaper to run (electricity wise ) too

Particularly for sleeping, the ceiling fan. If I have air blowing directly on me, I get a sore throat and/or catch a cold. For some odd reason, ceiling fans don't give the same result and I can get cool without worrying about consequences. Can't explain it, but it's true.

I have to agree with you. I sleep under my ceiling fan all year long, keeps the air circulating evenly.
