Kate Upton, the busty bombshell on the cover of the current Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, is probably the hottest model around right now. But Sophia Neophitou, who does casting for the Victoria’s Secret shows, turns up her nose at the 19-year-old newcomer, even though Kate Upton has appeared in the company's catalog.
"We would never use" Upton for a Victoria’s Secret show, Neophitou told The New York Times. Upton's beauty is "too obvious," she added. "She’s like a Page 3 girl. She’s like a footballer’s wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy." Ouch. Them be fighting words!
The Times describes Upton as "wholesomely proportioned," at 5 feet 11 inches with a 36-25-34 figure. But this is precisely why she's a refreshing changes from the emaciated, hollow-cheeked models we've seen on the runway lately. "When Kate first came in, everyone at the agency thought I was crazy," Ivan Bart, the "superagent" who heads IMG Models, told the Times. "She wasn’t 'fashion' enough."
Upton knows exactly why she has the look that just might knock Gisele Bundchen off her stilettos. "People told me I couldn’t be fashion, that I’m just an old-fashioned body girl, only good for swimwear," she told the Times. "But I knew that I could bring back the supermodel. What can I say? I’m relatable."

Kate Upton could NEVER knock Gisele Bündchen out of her stilettos. Gisele is a supermodel, only übermodels like Cindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista could knock her out.
