We’re all for innovative desserts. But an
ice cream sandwich that looks like a burger? We’re not sure about that one.
The Ice Cream Brrrger is currently being tested at a number of Carl’s Jr. locations in Orange County, CA. Once the trial period is over, the
fast food company will analyze sales data and guest feedback before deciding whether or not to release the item nationwide.
The dessert costs $1.99 and features disturbingly beefy-looking chocolate ice cream sandwiched between two sugar cookie buns. The Brrger also includes drizzles of multi-colored icing placed to resemble burger toppings—ketchup, cheese, lettuce, etc. (That’s the part we find least appetizing.)
Foodbeast commented that the timing of this menu addition is particularly interesting considering that Carl’s Jr. continues to promote their OREO Ice Cream Sandwich. They questioned whether or not there is room on the menu for two such desserts.
We certainly give Carl’s Jr. credit for creativity. But—even though we love both burgers and ice cream sandwiches—there is just something about the combination that makes us queasy.
What about you SodaHeads? Do you think the Ice Cream Brrrger is a great idea or
just gross?
It's not a BAD idea or anything, just not for me. I won't say it's gross, because it's not like it's FLAVORED like meat.... THAT would be gross. :P
i would rather eat normal icecream or a normal icecream sandwich then this.
As long it doesn't taste like one I'm alright.
other food items were made over into Ice Cream Treats too ..
just another variation on the theme ..
(and brand specific at that .. they do promote their burgers!)
