Im a correctional officer , im 21 and i really want to do somthing else . Im having a hard time deciding between practical careers and out of this world , probably never gonna happen things .
( This is my first real job believe it or not )
I would like to get into phlebotomy . I've looked into it and its practical .
I would like to be a EMT . I wanted to do this back when i was a freshman in high school but for some reason never did .
I would like to be a cop but not so much cause i hate law enforcement . Thats what working in the biz has done to me .
Right now i'd like to go back to school but i work 80 hours bi weekly at a jail . I hold a state jailers license ( hard test ) .
I been looking into stocking and loading jobs at wal-mart but im not sure .
I've looked into being a high school teacher but i don't think i'd ever get the chance to do that lol . My GPA from high school was 2.5 , all because i was the "screw around " type of student . Universities don't go for that and i don't have thousands on thousands to spend . I been outta high school 2 years and don't think scholarships would be in my favor .
Additional Details
I kinda feel like i need to quit and see whats out there because i've never done anything other than deal with convicts . I been told working in a jail is the easiest job i'll ever have but i just call b.s to that .
I guess you can compare it to the person thats only had sex with one person . They eventually wanna get out here and try other people to see what they been missing
Oh and the pay doesn't matter to me , i want happiness more than anything . Im tierd of always worrying about possible riots taking place where i work . I make 10 dollars an hour and all the over time i want , its just not worth it .

because you are a correctional officer you have contacts in the legal and investigative world...how about a small one man operation that offers the following services:
Bail Recovery agent
Skip Tracing
Process Serving
I don't see a common thread between all those careers.
Spend some quality time with yourself Boss. Think about what you like to do. Not just what work do you like to do, but out of all the stuff you've done, what would you be happiest doing for the rest of your life.
Do any of those careers you mentioned include a good healthy dose of what you love to do? If so, go for that. If not, then keep looking for a career that does.
Again, you are 21. You will be spending the next 40 plus years in your career. Your life could be wonderful, you could wake up every day excited to get to work and do what you love doing. Because you love doing it, you will do it well, probably better than most, and employers will pay you handsomely to do it for them. Or, maybe you will have your own business.
It doesn't matter what it is Boss. I know a man who is Captain of his fishing boat. He takes sport fishermen out every day onto the ocean to catch fish. He loves his job. He is on his boat, on the ocean that he loves. ...

It doesn't matter what it is Boss. I know a man who is Captain of his fishing boat. He takes sport fishermen out every day onto the ocean to catch fish. He loves his job. He is on his boat, on the ocean that he loves. He teaches and helps people from all walks of life to step into his world and have an adventure. (Admittedly, that's not the best part of the job in his opinion, but it comes with the territory) He lives where he works - in his boat. It's paradise to him. He does OK financially; he's not rich, but certainly not poor either. Most of all he's happy.
What do you like to do Boss? Like in "City Slickers", what's your one thing? Did you ever see that movie Boss? It's entertaining and has a good message. Find your one thing and go for it.
