WASHINGTONTIMES.COM reports:
A savage attack in a Capitol Hill neighborhood over the weekend that left a 29-year-old man in a coma has residents there on alert over the increasing frequency of violent crime in an area of the city popular with young professionals.

    Washington DC has some of the most restrictive gun laws of anywhere in the world, certainly anywhere in the US, and some of the highest crime rates. I think that speaks for itself.

    Guns help prevent crime, and when criminals know there are no guns allowed, they have NO fear.

    Control the criminal, and you won't have any problems with guns.

    WHY is it, every time a Bad Guy does something with a gun.. they want to take guns away from the Good Guys?

    If you follow that model, because of statements by Politicians, Citizens should not be allowed to speak! :)

    the criminals would love nothing more than to have the average Joe lose his gun rights because the criminal is not going to obtain his weapon legally in the first place.

    While there may be a spike in this particular area, violent crime is down in the US overall, continuing a downward trend. The 'gun control' I favor is hitting one's target. If more people carried, the criminals wouldn't feel quite so secure in their "jobs".

    Law enforcement didn't keep this fella from getting bonked! Doubtful the victim even had time or ability to make the call, much less wait. He probably wouldn't have been able to grab his gun if he had one. Tough scenario, but hang onto self-defense!

    Unfortunately, law enforcement and courts are tools of Government. Grumble if you like, but direct it at the cause. If you want more taxes and more force, would that help?

    There definately should be rules and regulations on firearms. Gun Control = People Control. If there are no guns the government will take control.

    Gun control is the answer. The law-abiding should be licensed to carry concealed weapons and trained vigorously so they can control their guns and land hits on bad guys.
