Sort of, but you can't tell if they are illegally there or not, or if they weren't actually born in America. Say someone has Indian (the country) parents, you'd be able to tell that they came from that region of asia due to the colour of their skin, but you couldn't tell if they weren't born in America or if they were there illegally. I think what Arizona is doing is despicable, if you force people to carry around a piece of paper saying they're there legally it would have to be for everyone, and then you'd have to stop everyone, check if they're legal, and move them along. If they only do this to non white people it's racism, and if they do it to everyone it'd turn arizona into a police state

No, I've made some spectacular misses on that one. I've been taken for french, italian, spanish, jewish or portugese. And I'm none of the above.

The English look a good bit like the Welsh, and it isn't until they speak (and sometimes not even then) that you can tell they're English. lol.

If someone can't describe what a American nationality looks like, then they can't tell someone else's nationality either by looking at them.

Of course not. Can you tell if someone is a liar by just looking at them? However if a police officer has reasonable suspicion one is drunk and driving you can givet them a breathalizer or sobriety field test. If a police officer has a reasonable suspicion one is in this country illegally that officer has a duty to check it out. Simply asking for a drivers license could be enough to tell. I have faith in the Arizona police officers to do the right thing in this case. Arizona has a responsibility to its citizens to serve and protect them. I think we are making too much of this issue.

Not really, but then I'm not trained to look for certain signs like the border patrol and other officers are.

I've met so many foreigners from all different parts of our world, it's just become very easy for me to identify where a person is from. It's really easy for me to identify people from Germany, France, England and Russia.

It's all about facial structure, eyes, voice and even skin color. Germans usually have strong jaws and higher brow lines. Russians usually have palish looking skin tones and high cheek bones. French usually have olive skin tones, high cheek bones and weak chins. I just can't identify people from Canada.

I'm not claiming that I'm expert, I make mistakes too, but I am pretty good at identifying where people are from. :)

no, of course you can't. Can you tell the difference between an American citizen and a Canadian just by looking at them, as an example?

Nationality and race are 2 completely different things, that seem to have been perverted into the same thing. You can be a national (citizen of most countries regardless of your race. I married a Mexican woman and she has some grandkids born here, but the Mexican part of the family consider them US citizens and not Mexican. just family. Go to the country of your ancestors and tell them you are Irish, German, African or whatever and they will laugh at you and call you a stupid American. I've seen it.

People are replying with several nationalities when in truth they are only one. So very few are really answering your question. Are you Irish (which is a nationality, not a race) or are you from the US? What I am saying, per my 1st line is that you can't name a nation and tell what physical features their citizens have. So in a long way, Yes.

The racial aspect of this new law is being over played. The only time AZ state law enforcement personnel can ask for proof of citizenship is if they have due cause. I live in AZ and our border problem is not just about Mexico, other illegals come through the border from all over the world.

We can guess, yet it is hard to know just by looking at it. Now if you traveled around the world the guess is easier, like I can guess and pretty much I am 95% correct most of the times because I travel too many nations. Yet the other 5% ouch!!
