Nope .I live 50 meters to a world famous beach . Could not learn to swim since years . I tried hard . Finally I gave up as I dislike laying in the sun or being at the beach . My sister learnt to swim 3 days after meeting sea for the first time in her life .

    Gunner
That counts as swimming, doesn't it?
  • Sonny Gunner 2012/06/09 18:13:26
    Sonny
No it doesn't, dog paddling can't save a life so it can't be classified as being able to swim

    1. To move in water by movements of the limbs, fins, tail, etc.

    2. To float on the surface of water or some other liquid.

    3. To move, rest, or be suspended in air as if swimming in water.

    5. To be immersed or steeped in or overflowing or flooded with a liquid: eyes swimming with tears.

The dog paddle could save the dog paddler's life.
    A non-swimmer could save a drowning person's life - with a rope, a boat, by tossing
    a life preserver. etc.

    You moron.
