I have donated blood on regular basis when I could, know how to do Heimlich, and CPR, and to buddy float a swimmer in in trouble. I don't have a defib kit, though.

I'll throw them a life ring if they slip and fall into the water at work, but under no circumstances will I go in after them to save them. It's not that I can't swim, it's that I work at a "water reclamation facility" (fancy name for sewer plant). *grin*

thank you. :o) my veins are so small they can't get the needles in to get the blood out, it takes way to long.

I got my EMT cert back in 1999.

I saved a few lives before that, but haven't had to do anything after I got certified.

My om is a nurse and has taught me all of the above.

Yes to all the above. I'm a nationally certified EMT. Prior to certification I performed the Heimlich twice, once on a choking co-worker and once on my Stepson. Learn CPR everyone! There isn't always time to wait for EMS to get there.
