You're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but shoes are apparently a whole different story. Recent reports show that shoes reveal a lot about the wearer's personality. If you're agressive, ankle boots are your thing. If you're a more agreeable person, practical shoes are your pick. And the list goes on and on. Do you think you can judge a person by what kind of shoes they're wearing?

If you have been reading newspapers or websites, listening to the radio or watching TV over the past few weeks, you have probably heard the news: “You CAN judge a person by his shoes.” Beginning in mid-June, word of a psychology article titled “Shoes as a source of first impressions” began circling the globe.

Honestly....all of us are judge others, it's a natural instinct. We do it to detect others as threats or not. So for us to say not to judge others is just a waste of time and breath.

My mother always told me to look at a man shoes and it will give you a good idea, what type of person he is. Meaning,he take care of himself, he has good self-esteem,he confident in who he is. Don't forget good hygiene! If his shoes are "Busted" run! :))

You can always be surprised, but what you wear is just another method of defining who you are.

Determining your character and then dressing accordingly is actually very smart in my opinion as it will mean your random interactions with others will generally be more tailored to fit with your style. If they have the same tastes, there's a better chance you will get along :)

The appearance doesn't really matter to me, what matters is the person upon the inside and his/her personality, I don't go judging people because of their looks.

Just because a woman is wearing comfortable shoes, it does not mean that she would not welcome your removing her shoes and massaging her feet! Always keep an eye out for opportunity!

I wouldn't say you should or could accurately judge someone by their shoes but you can get a good feel of some of their traits and activities...

You can tell a lot about a person by the shoes they are wearing...but if you judge someone based only on their shoes...than you got problems.

Shoes could be just as misleading as what you wear, or how you do your hair, whether you have piercings and tattoos or not, etc.
Don't judge people by what they wear.

Heels are ok but not for the long term. They mess up your arches and make your feet flat. The woman's arch is similar to the curves of a woman's body. Flip flops and jeans are the hottest!

Many people in my trashy city walk around wearing these. They are rednecks and disgusting. I can tell what they are just by those boots.

Anyway, yeah the guys I saw back in high school (who also wore these) 15 and younger did those jobs too.....b/c everyone who wears these boots must have that job, wise call.

Years back I watched on something like 20/20 & they talked about the importance of shoes & how even men now a days will judge you based on your shoes. Every since then I have a habit of looking at people's shoes. I don't peg them by their shoes though.
