Can we be lonely in a crowd of friends?

Life is mostly lived alone and to live it well and happy we have to love ourselves.If we cannot do that..HOW can we expect others to love us.One of the first questions i learned was..Why did God make you? He made me to be happy in this world and the next!!!!!!

    Now for some words of wisdom.

    Our language has wisely sensed the two sides of being alone. It has created the word "loneliness" to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word "solitude" to express the glory of being alone.

    Not among a crowd of real friends. But in our culture real friends just about don't exist. We have all become some form of object to be used, and thown away when done with, or tired of. If you have any real friends you've work at it. And you must love yourself first, to be able to love others.

    Mostly I find that is good to always have your own fun. That way if everyone else ignored you, those feelings of loneliness or other type of inadequacy, don't creep in. When anyone in the group comes back to interact with you that makes you feel more interested, then you can park the private fun and so one.

    I don't really feel a deep connection sometimes with my friends and my own thoughts can distance myself from others when I think too much. I think sometimes I do this on purpose because I am under the delusion that I feel special.

    that's how i feel all the time. you can be surrounded by so many people and still have no one talk to you. its ludicrous.

    We can be lonely if our hearts and thoughts are elsewhere. But it shouldn't last long if we reach out and care about their feelings instead.

    I have been lonely with others around....especially if you're not who you really want to be with at that time.....but I have to remind myself....that I am NEVER alone.....God is always there. ;)

    I think it depends on your state of mind and your needs at that particular moment. If the crowd of friends isn't filling a need you have at that moment you CAN feel lonely.

    They DON'T. But if we're lonely with our friends at that particular moment we could be needing something they're not giving-That's not to say they HAVE TO.

    I could be much more lonely in a crowd than I ever feel when with just a few people where we can all communicate from the heart. I really dislike being in crowds. Makes my head throb.
