I find reading poetry helps to destress me but don't if it does for most people in general?

Oh yeah. Keats is in my desk draw at work. Have to take it to a local coffee shop during some lunch hours (well, they are no longer "an hour" -- tells you how much we all need to de-stress!).

I like poetry and I write it. But I tend to write when I'm feeling down. I guess just a stress reliever for me. Although my poems are mostly about good happy feelings.

you should try and write some, maybe a Limerick to start with, it's only five lines

Might just give that a shot. :O) I was really talking about heavier poetry, though: Keats, Shelley, Tennyson, Milton, et al. I don't understand a lot of their references, and symbols tend to go over my head. Even some modern song lyrics escape me.

Unless someone dissects the piece for me, line by line, it's hard for me to tell if they're happy or sad, talking about a wife or a horse, etc.

Thank you for the link, though-- I'll certainly check it out.
