Too much red otherwise: it would be red shoes, red belt, red lipstick, red flower. Blah.

The black shoes tone the 'in-your-face' redness down in the front, but also, when you turn, that single black button in the back will draw the eye simultaneously to the black shoes, and should just speak nothing but taste and subtle class.

(The dress is to die for. You go, girl.)

I'd go with black because you can wear those with anything. Red would go with that dress, but probably not much else.
