I didn't watch it because I can't turn on the sound right now, but here are my thoughts. It is diet that can cause heart disease, so it should also be diet that prevents or even cures heart disease. Yes, I know they say it (sometimes) is genetic, but it isn't really. Only a higher or lower risk of heart disease is really genetic. But since most 'mainstream' food isn't exactly good for your heart (or the rest of your body), a lot of people will get health problems anyway.
Dr. John Mcdougall's diet-vegan-will do just as good and the food is wonderful. Face it people, proper nutrition is not a fast process. It is EVERYTHING and should require some time and effort. That is the price for good health. Because people are inherently lazy, is exactly why fast food has survived so long while making us terminally ill before our time.
It's worth pointing out also that the mainstream diet causes people to have to use the overpriced medical system which if allowed to continue as it is unchecked will be one of the contributing factors to the collapse of society.
Yes! The reason I'm picking on the medical system is because it is a parasitic system, it feeds off people being diseased, and giving surgical procedures to these folks, and at a price point that does NOT exist with any other goods, or services in society!
maybe we finally start talking about the 'poisonous' foods and start taxing, regulating and finally out-phasing them. - taxing .... not that we should call it a sin tax. but simply a usage tax to pay for the consequences of eating stuff that will cost to society in health care costs. - regulating ..... like in new york, where mayor bloomberg wanted to limit the sizes of unhealthy beverages. - making all the healthy alternatives cheaper, easier to access and have people start making healthier choices.
"- making all the healthy alternatives cheaper, easier to access and have people start making healthier choices." Now that you're spot on about!
As to your points about taxing, I'm taking a neutral position on that one right now. What I would really like to see some very strong checks put on the medical system, they should not get away with charging the prices they're charging!
i know that the tax is a 'three letter word' and americans are hesitant , but.. it would sound only fair to me that there would be some consequences levied on the decisions that we make. if we choose the more costly in the long rung, would be fair in my mind to pay for it. why should the rest of the people have to foot the bill for those making wrong decisions........... ;-\
I didn't listen to the whole vid, but I know that oatmeal is good for chlosteral (sp?) and peppers, like red crushed pepper is GREAT for your heart and other internal organs...also good for controlling pain. Hot peppers are very good for your heart though
I understand that, I just don't like any thread I produce to turn into a thread about the media organization that the information is sourced from, this thread is about the Doctor's theory that a plant based diet can reverse heart disease, not CNN. I do the same when I created a thread using Newmax as a source which is a conservative publication, and people come on talking about Newsmax instead of the topic of the thread, I tell those folks if you have an issue with Newsmax take it up with them, that's not the topic of the thread.
I've done over 1700 polls and have never told any respondent to any of my polls his opinion was wrong. After all the reason I did these polls was to get opinions, even those I did not agree with. I can't see the point in having a poll where all I want to hear from is people who share my opinion on a particular topic. There are groups of people that do just that. And if that is what you want, you are entitled to that. It is after all your poll. And I respect that, even though you do not respect me. So, I'm sorry I can't join your Dr Gupka fan club.
I absolutely respect all opinions on the topics of all of my threads whatever it is, my point is the topic of this thread is not CNN. In fact my friend list is mostly comprised of people who don't share my positions on given subject matters, I'm not into as the Christian term goes preaching to the choir. I just don't like my threads turning into a thread about the media source of the information, I like my thread to be focused on the topic otherwise it's a thread without a purpose, and CNN is not the topic of this thread.
If you agree, or disagree with Dr. Gupta's theory, if you've input to add pertaining to the topic, great. I'm not knocking for disagreeing with his theory.
When you said "Now you're accusing the Dr of being quack, do you have evidence?" you were asking for evidence when I was only giving my opinion. I never present my opinion as a fact, just my opinion. As the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, "Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts." I was only giving my opinion of Dr Gupta
