Can a someone at fifty years of age go on a date with a 19 year-old?

Depends on what you consider a date. If two people have common interests, like maybe catching a jazz performance for dinner & drinks. Or going to the wax museum for laughs, or art gallery. Everything does not have to be about sex, but if two adults are willing, so what?

The question isn't 'can they', the question is 'should they'....Of course they can it's a personal decision between 2 adults; I would say it's probably not the best decision. Personally I don't get it; I'm not even 50 yet and I have zero interest in dating someone that much younger than me...

Yes they can but should they. I was with someone who was 21 years younger than me for 2 years. The sex was great for awhile but it was always just for play

Why not? If both of them love each other and are okay with it, society cannot stop them in no way. I personaly believe that It's not wrong at all when it comes to age difference(from my experience, It's not impossible to fall in love with someone way older). Of course, there would apparently present a few problems in the future,since the young one would someday have the desire to build a family and would probably look for things that the old one couldn't provide anymore. So...I don't think that this relationship would last for ever..haha.

But It's your own life, in which you have the chance to take your own choices and risks. people who are not okay with it should better pay attention to their own lifes..

I see no reason why a 50 year old man or woman couldn't date me, but I'd question if I would be enough for someone of that caliber.

win win here. a 19 year old male will thrill a 50 year old female. and there is not a 50 year old man alive who wouldn't, if given a legit chance, get it on with a 19 year old female. just how it is. not too many exceptions.

Legally, yes. At 19 he's a legal adult and can date whom he wants, but I think it's gross/weird being with someone old enough to be your grandma.

I never go by what I've been taught but by research or some experience. I did answer yes to the question and partly for your reasons but in my experience the type of guy that leans towards much younger women were immature in other ways too. Younger girls tend to have the romantic dream of love and many of those men know it and play on it. They're also usually more inexperienced and still haven't worked out what they want so it can even be unfair.

If I take on your reasoning completely as an animal instinct then surely the girl should also go for the fitter younger handsome male. But it's just more logical that relationships are difficult enough without added pressure, she should be out experiencing life and doing stupid stuff with her immature friends of her own age. She misses out on a lot of lessons, she might not see it at the time but has no choice afterwards to rejuvenate herself if she changes her mind.

Then there are the genuine cases where the guy hasn't just a liking for younger girls but simply met someone who he fell in love with. No one should have a say when it's not predatory.

Legally yes but I would be suspect of the 50 yr olds motives and worry about whether the 19 yr old understands what they were getting into.

Its not about the ages, its about that much of an age difference between the two people. Not knowing either person personally, as someone who did marry someone 15 yrs older than me, I know personally that with age difference comes differences in life experience. Its extremely hard to imagine when you dont know the people personally exactly what kind of life experience they may have in common. Better to be suspect then outright condemn or take the chance that either of the people are not on the up and up.
