California is not alone on this one. There are at least 14 countries that have some sort of foie gras ban, mostly targeting its production. However, the difference is that the ban in California not only prohibits foie gras production but also bars shops and restaurants from selling it.

On July 1, California will be bound by the most sweeping anti-foie gras statute in the world. Consumed by few, the pricey delicacy made from duck or goose’s liver is lusted after by chefs and diners for its rich, singular flavor and versatility on the plate for everything from hot dogs to ice cream.

You state: "Your debating style is as useful as a child repeating "did not, did not, did not, did not!""
Except in this case, I post the actual *FACTS*, while you scream: "did not, did not, did not, did not!"
-You're welcome!
You have not stated a single fact but opinion. Give me the facts - then we'll talk.

(No, they are *NOT* really being fed to make Foie Gras. I wouldn't want you to start a crusade to "Stop Cockatiel Foie Gras Production!" just because you were shown a video of cockatiels being tube fed.)
Wow thank you for the patronisation.
I will now block you because if you can't be polite I'm not interested in speaking to pig-headed jerks who can't spell and feel the need to inappropriately use asteriks everywhere.
I also make pate with chicken liver. Nomnomnom..
God does NOT condone abuse.
This is how God wants His animals to be treated:
The *CLAIM* by the ignorant is "animal cruelty", when in reality there is *NO CRUELTY*.
PROOF: If cruelty were involve, the geese would try and *ESCAPE AND EVADE* those with the feeding tube, they would *NOT* swarm the feeders as they do.
No, I guess not.
"Being overfed" isn't an issue geese are known for.
If the geese had an issue with the amount or method, they wouldn't come up.
And they certainly wouldn't crowd the feeder.
Now *THINK*: If they were fed to rupture, as the liars claim they are, the fowl would die.
Buyers won't buy 3 or 4 birds at a time, ESPECIALLY *DEAD* or *DYING* birds, so each death is a total loss of profit.
I think this should be legal only as long as you capture, feed & kill the goose yourself... then again, I think that should be the case for all meat. If you can actually do the dirty work, then fine, you deserve to eat it.
You mean like human smokers, right?
So what are some of the health effects of the fattening?
And how long do *you think* the geese will actually *LIVE* with these health issues? (Pssst! Less than 6 months.)
You state: "I think this should be legal only as long as you capture, feed & kill the goose yourself... then again, I think that should be the case for all meat. If you can actually do the dirty work, then fine, you deserve to eat it."
I like that idea myself!
I also think that he is getting to the point that banning a certain food will not fix the problem. Eventually the same cruel people will find something else to do unethically and thus the problem is not solved.
Have you ever seen Meet Your Meat? There was, at one time, an overwhelming trend of cruelty in the meat industry. Not to say that there still isn't a lot going on, but regulation has hampered much of it. The solution was not a ban on eating meat, but stiffer penalties for unethical practices and more frequent inspection of farms.
