From vanity license plates to custom paint jobs, many car owners love to adorn their vehicles with personal touches. Now, Bridgestone has found a way to help drivers turn their tires into works of art.
At the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, Bridgestone unveiled their new printing technology, which allows drivers to add custom artwork and patterns to the sides of their tires. First, the vector-based illustration is printed directly on the tire surface. A protective layer is then applied over the top to resist scuffs and scratches—essentially preventing the design from being destroyed the second you drive away.
There is no word yet on when these printed tires will be made available to the public, how much they will cost, or what the design submission process will entail.
Gizmodo believes that Bridgestone’s printed tires will only appeal those who “don’t know the line between tasteful and tacky.” What do you think SodaHeads? Awful or amazing?

Axe Grinder 2012/03/12 17:38:58Awful+8Oh great, now you're gonna see these eye sores parked outside of every ghetto night club in East, St. Louis !! Normal people just hope they can afford to put gas in their fukking car, now some idiots need custom tires.

They'll be on practically every other car, 5 minutes after they're released for sale in the U.S.
And several hundred people will die in the ensuing "tire riots".
Mindless, primal conformity will be achieved by the American “individual”, no matter the cost.
As my dad used to say, 'some people have more money than sense."
