On Monday, a Turkish couple made it official by tweeting "I do," in what's believed to be the world's first Twitter-hosted wedding. Actually they wrote "Evet"—the Turkish word for "Yes"—on their iPads, and added a few extra T's as is customary when expressing joy through digital mediums.

scary, disconcerting, shameful, disheartening did I use the word stupid yet?
I don't really consider it depressing, it's just those are the only two choices you gave. I would choose something different to mark what a special day it would be. You can grab a burger if you just want to fill the hole and you're in a hurry, but nothing beats a good steak cooked to perfection. That goes for all things in life, especially if they really matter.
There's a plus to this story, though - there are so many "bridezilla" stories out there where everyone has such a fit over the "perfect" everything that no one enjoys the event, and they give no focus whatsoever on the marriage itself but only the wedding. I would not want that either. What these people chose was offbeat, sure, but it was also low-key and maybe that is what they intended, for the marriage itself to be more important. Also, if those are the people in the picture, it seems they did a traditional wedding, too - the headline was misleading ;-) In that case, it looks like a personal touch/quirky thing they will have to talk about for a long while. I like that they are both smiling :)
