Brad Pitt isn't known for holding back on his point of view. And his latest diatribe about religion is sure to offend some people.
At the premiere of his new film, "The Tree of Life," at the Cannes Film Festival, in which he plays a 1950s churchgoer, Pitt told reporters he didn't enjoy his religious upbringing.
"I got brought up being told things were God's way, and when things didn't work out it was called God's plan. I've got my issues with it. Don't get me started. I found it very stifling," the 47-year-old said.
Pitt famously has six kids with his partner, Angelina Jolie: Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 4, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 2.
So we gather they don't say "Grace" around the dinner table?

I don't give a $h!t what brad Pitt says.....
I was permitted to experience a variety of religious teachings growing up thanks to my mother. She believed that to truly understand god you had to understand and learn about all religions. So I understand where Brad Pitt is coming from in his statement to reporters. Why, because I've heard these same words spoken by various priest, pastors, and lay people, When hurricane Kitrina hit New Orleans I heard said, God's will or it's Gods judgement against the people of the city for allowing casinos, gambling, prostitution, corruption, and yes because of gays.
The Bible which I look upon as a guide for living written by man for men, not written by God as many would have us believe contains much. Unfortunately, each religion claims that their Bible, written by their God teaches a view specific to their religion. I could go on but I won't. Suffice to say, children need to know "religion", just not a narrow minded view of religion.
Christ is the only way to God. Sorry to be so blunt.
I don't need someone preaching to me. Sorry to be so blunt...and take a look around, don't you think whats happening in the world now is sort of hellish? (I'm just saying)
Anyway, I wish to discuss this no further...
