He hadn't planned on releasing it till later.....probably the day before the elections to avoid all this flack! His VP let it out! I'm glad to hear that the black Pastors have gotten on the band wagon against it. I think this is going to take some more votes away from him!

But it's good for the rest of us. OMG = Obama Must Go. I really think that Obamas support for gay marriage is the straw that broke the camels back. He has attached the church on so many occasions with ridicule and on it's religious freedoms. He has allowed the assault and the annihilation Christian communities all over the world by not coming out against their Muslims attackers. Three Christian Pastors in Iran have been sentenced to die because of their conversion from Islam to Christianity and he says nothing. He avoided for three years the celebration in this nations honoring a national day of prayer. This year he participated because of an election year. He comes out and says that the USA is not a Christian country; yet it was founded on Christian principles and virtue. He invites scores of Muslims to the White House to celebrate Ramadan. While he and his family go on vacation to play golf or shopping on Easter and Christmas. Where is Michelle Obamas family during this time? We know that Barak has no surviving members which I think is a little odd. Do we not think that maybe during these Christian holidays Michelle might invite her family to spend some time at the White House? It is just not just black pastors which are not supporting BHObama. It's all pastors where the blood of Christ unites them. For blood is thicker than water and race is diminished to but just a shallow pool.

Gays represent a small fraction of Obama's voter base. Religious blacks represent a much, MUCH larger bloc. More than anything else, Obama's unapologetic and full-on assault on religious values may be the straw that breaks his chances of reelection.

It is, in any case, why I've had to revisit my prediction of an Obama victory in 2012.

Not today, but in the near future, it could be.

If you're already on the verge of getting kicked out of the White House after one term (as Obama is) because of a shaky economy and other reasons, and you declare support for a new movement that's slowly getting its stilts replaced (as the marriage equality movement is), undoubtedly people are going to think your priorities are skewed.

However, the marriage equality movement is slowly gaining popularity. Eventually, it'll grow large enough that people who show support FOR it have an advantage against people who go AGAINST it, because more people are going to be for it or neutral than against. When this happens, if Obama keeps his stance on the topic and tries to run for president for a second term (after getting voted out of office after the first term, if Romney remains as popular as he is today), he's more than likely not going to win, but his stance is going to give him a slight boost in popularity.

No, he will lose some of his Black voters. Pres. Obama is taking the Black vote for granted.
As a Black teenager, I know the Black community doesn't support or embrace homosexuality or gay marriage.
    NOBAMA 2012.
I believe more Blacks should wake up and realize Obama is incompetent.

In his mind it was. He figures blacks won't be happy, but who else are they going to vote for? As expected the NAACP backed him to tell blacks it's okay. Problem:most blacks feel the NAACP doesn't speak to their values and has lost it's way. Most blacks who vote, will vote for him anyway, but, the question is how many will simply boycott the vote? A few more will vote for Romney

First off it will erode his base as most minorites like Latinos, Blacks, and those of Asian decent are against gay marriage and are pro traditional marriage. Then he'll lose some of the non-minorities' votes from those who are Christian, Jewish, or of the Muslim faith who voted for him last time. So he's hurt himself substantially and he doesn't have a strong enough Presidential record to really pull him out of the hole he's dug with this flip-flop in stance.

Many black people are devout Christians and devout Muslims. Both religions, with a few exceptions, consider gay sex to be a sin or an abomination.

Many who voted for the Barack Obama who said "marriage should be between a man and a woman" in 2008 will not be pulling the lever for him this fall.

I know right. A lot of people in the Black community are so ignorant! Yes they will cut us down if we oppose Obama's policies. They would call us Uncle Toms and sell outs.
I am a Black Christian and almost 18. I believe Pres. Obama is incompetent. He is a weak president.
Sadly my mother supports Obama. My uncle doesn't support and she doesn't like that.
I disapprove of gay marriage because it is against Biblical standards of marriage. Most of us Blacks don't believe in or support gay marriage because we are either Christian(me and you) or Muslims.
I have nothing against gays. I hate homosexuality though.
