Ready, Aim ... Buy? Why Gun Sales Spiked On Black Friday. What Is Going On?

Americans spent some $52 billion on Black Friday weekend. In addition to sweaters and iPods, though, shoppers were scooping up something else in large numbers: guns.

According to the FBI, which processes requests for background checks of prospective gun buyers, 129,166 such checks were performed on Black Friday, Nov. 25, breaking the previous single-day record -- set on Black Friday 2008 -- by nearly a third. The surge in gun sales was initially reported by USA Today.

Also, many people shoot a gun for hunting, etc. I know many people have a problem with that but this is a country (at least for now) that protects personal freedoms.

People learned a big lesson after Katrina, in the Chocolate City.......Your Govt. will not protect you. It is up to you & you alone to protect your family. Buy guns & don't forget to stock up on the ammunition, if our society does happen to fall, it will be every man for themselves, or should I say Race for themselves.

What about those of us who shoot guns for competition and fun or do you believe guns only serve on purpose? There are still people who sword fight for competition and fun as well. Nice spin on the Christianity thing I'm neither paranoid or a christian. If I wanted to hurt myself or others I wouldn't need a gun for that there are many useful weapons other than guns that can be found anywhere with the right training a piece of dental floss can become a lethal weapon
