Nope, I have no need of a gun, so not about to buy one

Recently bought a Rossi .38 for personal carry.....I have a bunch of guns but I must say a revolver doesn't stove pipe or jam and as much as I love my semi-autos with huge numbers of round carrying capabilities a wheel gun worst case scenario is you might have to squeeze the trigger again if you have a bad round....just my opinion :)

Why would I buy a gun, I have the Government, and the police to watch out for me. I say give them all the guns. That way the only people in the US not armed will be the law abiding citizen..

October 10th I decommissioned (and sold to a fellow Officer) my Springfield Armory XD-40 and Range Certified on my new Duty Weapon.. a Springfield Armory SA-XD .45 Tactical (Police version) XD (4in brl).

Smooth as silk, no more recoil than the 40 (even though I shoot 230 gr) and the frame is the same as the 40.

Never thought I would like a .45 (most of them I shot I was unimpressed) but this piece has changed my mind.

I own the Ruger P345 while the trigger pull is a bit stiff on DA after the first round it is very nice to shoot can't imagine stepping down to nine after shooting the .45 ACP except that it's cheaper.

I cannot figure out what the fascination is with guns! Living in Arizona, it amazes me that
folk can now carry concealed weapons with impunity. Why would anyone want to do that?
Is it that way in other areas across the country? I was raised in Massachusetts and the
only ones allowed to carry a gun (that I knew of) were police. Can someone enlighten me?

As a Law Enforcement Officer I can tell you for a fact that crime goes down when the “bad guys” are made aware that there are armed Citizens carrying (weapons) concealed.

Even a hopped up druggie thinks twice before attempting to rob a person if he even suspects that the person they want to rob will unload a magazine of FMJ rounds into their chest.

In AZ, if the members of Congresswoman Gabby Gifford's Staff, or even some of those attending her event would have had a concealed weapon, the tragedy could have very well have been prevented.

The “bad guys” will always find a way to get a weapon, and the only way to prevent them from using it, is to use your (Legal) one first.

And please don't even think about stating that it is the Police's job to prevent those crimes... The day they perfect the Star Trek transporter might help us get to a crime scene in time, but until then it's normally too late, and it turns into a crime scene investigation.

Every law abiding Citizen should carry a weapon for protection, because a gun is a heck of a sight lighter to carry than a Law Enforcement Officer (especially when that LEO is 6ft tall, 240lb like me) ;')

Actually I hang out with the police although I'm not my friends are they too agree and like having that extra back up cause you never know when some nut jobs going to pull.

Had a deputy sherif in AZ tell me he hoped there'd be an armed citizen to back him up if needed.

My point exactly I will help the police anytime. People seem to forget they too are people our friends and our neighbors

Problem is, some of them have forgotten that fact and let the badge go to their heads.

Some can and some can't turn it off. Most of the ones I know, know when to say when and we all get along just fine. For the most part we're all just cocky smart asses and we have fun

For about ten yrs there I always had cop friends where I lived. After moving to Flagstaff I didn't have any more. All my friends then were firefighters were just as bad.

Oh please! I am never going to be a victim to anything. Give me a break! I live in a shore community where the lower housing market is around a half a million dollars to buy a house. I am not dissing you but I will never need a gun - except maybe to kill someone that wants to hurt my pet deer!
