'Bite Me' Remark Gets Officer Bitten: A punishable offense?

KayDee May 27, 2009 21:01:54

A former Connecticut Police Academy captain bit a co-worker after a "bite me" remark. The captain, Francis Woodruff, was bothering the female license and applications analyst, when she replied with a "bite me." The captain took the remark literally and bite the tricep of the female analyst, leaving teeth marks. Now, the captain has to appear in court after Wyler filed a complaint.
Yes! Punish the captain who bit the female analyst!
No. Wyler should never have said "bite me" to the former captain.

This action on the officers part was uncalled for. That would be the same to tell him to kiss her butt. Would he have done that to?

If you say bite me its an invitation to be bitten. There really can't be much of a complaint.

I'm not too sure what should happen....... think that the charge should be dropped, because the police officer did say bite me...... But they should get punished for whatever they were being punished for...

No. Wyler should never have said "bite me" to the former captain.

The former Captain should know better than to take a comment such as that literally. It is assault no matter what way you look at it. Furthermore, this so called "former" Captains mental state must be in serious question, one must really look at what reasons there might be that he is no longer in his capacity as a captain. Perhaps he has demonstrated poor judgment and questionable behavior in the past hence he is no longer a captain. Either way, both behaved like children. I would hope that "Bite Me" is not the extent of this woman's vocabulary. If so then she might want to return to some educational institution for a vocabulary and sentence structure class. My niece of 4 years old and nephew of 5 years old demonstrate more common sense than to engage in behavior such as this. How is it that these 2 "Adults"cant? SEND THEM BOTH TO KINDERGARTEN AND TEACH THEM TO PLAY NICE AND RESPECT EACH OTHER OR MAKE THEM SIT IN THE CORNER AND TAKE A TIME OUT!!!!!!!!.......seems to work for most children!!

When you say "bite me", espcially to an Academy Captain, you better believe it when he takes you seriously. He was just doing as ordered! There is no crime here!
