Bin Laden Raid Book Knocks ‘50 Shades’ from Top of Bestseller Lists: Do You Plan to Read ‘No Easy Day’?

No Easy Day doesn’t hit shelves until September 4, but it’s already pushed aside the Fifty Shades trilogy to claim the top spots on Amazon’s and Barnes & Noble’s bestseller lists. The book, written by a former member of Seal Team 6, is a firsthand account of the 2011 assassination of Osama bin Laden.

Despite the fact that the book is being published under the pseudonym “Mark Owen,” the SEAL team author has been identified as Matt Bissonnette. Bissonnette has stated that he was one of the team members present in the room when bin Laden was killed. In the months after the raid, he retired and began writing the book with journalist Kevin Maurer.

There has been so much hype surrounding the upcoming military memoir, the publisher, Dutton—an imprint of Penguin, had to move up the publication date from the previously announced September 11. They also increased the initial print run from 300,000 to 400,000 now to 575,000.

At this point, it seems that the book has not been read or cleared by the Defense Department. However, a spokesperson for Dutton has stated that the work was vetted by a former special operations attorney. A portion of the proceeds from No Easy Day will be donated to families of SEALs killed in action.

So, SodaHeads: Do you plan to read No Easy Day?

Anything is better than that knock-off Twilight porno that was polluting bookshelves and infecting walls with its advertisements.

Let's all band together to keep it this way then maybe, just maybe, that atrocity known as 50 Shades of Grey will fade away to nothing as soon as possible.

In this day and age it is hard to keep anything private. Perhaps Fox spilled the beans but had they not, someone else would of come along and done it.
You mention 4 star generals running the war. How about if the good ol' U S of A minded their own business. One of the main reasons we are so hated is the fact that our government think they need to police the whole universe. As the quote says "Clean up your own backyard before you barge into someone else's"!

I couldn't agree more. I just hate the lives of my brothers being wasted on nonsense rules/regulations and lack of enough ammunition. Here in our country...we definitely have issues, to state the least. We need to help ourselves because no other country can/will provide assistance when needed.

I don't care one bit beyond confirming he is dead. What could possibly take up that many pages? Are they detailing their breakfasts that day?

I wouldnt be so quick to call it truth. How do you know this book itself isnt a piece of propaganda? Do you really think the White House and Pentagon are not behind it? If they didnt want you to read the book you wouldnt hear about the book. There might be some contradictory information as to what was originally reported, but that is classic psychological warfare technique. While they make you think this book is revealing some type of cover up, it is actually promoting and protecting the official story. By putting out a book that "reveals" differing intel yet still protects the idea that the overall operation and event took place, they are further supporting the official story. Truth is, the raid didnt happen. Bin Laden was already dead.

Its a bunch of propaganda. The raid didnt happen. According to the CIA unit tasked with tracking Bin Laden, he was dead in 2002 from Marfan syndrome. It was even reported around the world in foriegn press that he died back then and CIA agents were at the hospital in Russia where he died. They needed to keep his character alive for an excuse to enter the regions militarily. Over the years all the videos released by the US govenrment of Bin Laden allegedly admitted responsibility for 9/11 etc were all fabricated. The FBI and CIA had to both apologize and were treatened with law suits after they used pictures of other people to alter into photos of Bin Laden. Then this raid allegedly takes place. They cant show us any evidence. They say they dumped his body in the ocean. They lie and say that is traditional muslim burial, which is completely false. Then all the Navy Seals allegedly involved in the raid die when they are all stuffed on a helicopter against normal procedure and it is blown up.

First released Bin Laden kill photo

    osama killed fake

FBI altered photo of Pres. of Spain to create new Bin Laden photo.

I pretty much only read non-fiction, but I'm never looking for anything specific. I'm usually just at the library or book store and I see some that's interesting and I get it. This is the first book that I'm excited to go buy and read. My only fear is that I won't be able to put it down. I'm just hoping that this is really "Non-fiction" and not something that gets sensationalized in print. The one thing that worries me is that the DOD hasn't tried to stop the publication or distribution.

This is good for Obama's reelection for doing the right thing, he got Bin Laden in his first term on which Bush failed miserably in his 2 terms or eight years in office. Thank you Mr. President for keeping our family and America safe, we trusted you that's why we will give you another four years, keep up the good work Mr. President.

well you cant prove anything, even if it is true its definitely not a good thing, we have no right to illegally enter any country, we sure as hell have no right to assassinate or kill anyone for any reason, and if Bush did it all you clueless leftists wouldve had something to say but Obama does it and its A OKAY....its always a double standard when it comes to Obama
