Have you ever gone on vacation and forgotten your bathing suit? Or do you just hate swimsuit shopping? Thanks to 3D printing technology, it's possible to never go through the often-painful bikini shopping process again.

Meet the N12. It's made out of nylon and is the first "ready-to-wear, completely 3D printed article of clothing." No sewing is required. The N12 is waterproof and the nylon it's made out of is described as "white, strong and flexible." 3D printing advocates claim that bikinis are just the beginning; they are able to make a 3D printed dress (zipper included) and at some point all clothing will be able to be made this way. What do you think? Is printable clothing the future of fashion? Or would you prefer to go shopping the old-fashioned way?

DAILYMAIL.CO.UK reports:
The N12 bikini is the world's first first ready-to-wear, completely 3D-printed article of clothing. N12 represents the beginning of what is possible for the near future.

What if you got a paper cut? And paper isn't the most comfortable clothing material....

It may sounds really stupid but I'm sure it will catch on and all of you who say no will be using it. I shop at thrift stores for old fashioned clothing but there are clothing items that I just can't find. But even if this catches on I'm sure it will be very expensive for a while.

My very close friend has been a pioneer in 3D printing technology --- a leading salesman and now owner of a business for over 10 years. This is the real deal and I have NO doubt that something like this IS the future. It may still take another 10-15, but we're very likely to see brick & mortar retail stores morphing into customizing, sizing shops with no off the rack inventory and clothes being made to order and delivered within a day or two.

But I could definitely see these as "vending machine" type deals. You can get sandwiches and sodas and chips out of vending machines, but trust me, Subway ain't going anywhere.

I am a technology nut and I can say that a lot of things will fall victim to the "3D Printing" world. I believe that this could very well happen as time moves along. However, with that being said this technology will get better and they will learn how to do better graphics and such with high quality (so who knows how soon).

I don't think it would work very well. Is it already cut out? Or do you have to put in a piece of nylon and cut the dotted lines? I really don't think it's any different from going to the store and finding a cute bathing suit.

3D printing will revolutionize all areas of life. Soon we will download open source 3D models, print them at home and use the parts to assemble household appliances and tools. There is already a self-replicating 3D printer that can produce the necessary parts to make another printer:

They're actually printing the article of clothing, not putting a design on an article of clothing.
