I do not speak for others but as for myself, I do not care who is in your bedroom it has nothing to do with me and as long as it makes you happy then it matters not what 'anyone' else thinks or believes. Love first...understanding comes easier.

People, especially "Christians" (And not like you, Sister Jean, you're a good Christian) who are like, BLAH BLAH GAY PEOPLE ARE BAD AND DISGUSTING...they don't want to see change. Things that were routine for them are being "threatened". No one is trying to threaten anyone.

Yes, what happens in the bedroom stays in the bedroom. I'd be just as disgusted to see a heterosexual couple kissing and petting each other in public just as I would a homosexual couple doing that. It's meant for the privacy of one's home.

My issues is regarding the legality/legitimacy of these relationships when they are denied the same rights as married individuals, like finances, wills, mortgages, etc.

I have surely noticed it, yes. I have never understood, why some people obsess about what other people do behind closed doors. It's weird, and I think THEY are the "troubled" ones.

All the questions are due to NC passing amendment one wich screws over a lot of people not just gay people. It does not ban same sex marriage that was already banned back in 1996 this ban Civil Unions so to all the people saying "They still have Civil Union" They don't. It also keeps unmarried straight couples who have been living togather for years from having any rights should something happen to the other as well.

No Idea... I really love that you are supportive of the LGBT Community though, Sister Jean, as most really religious people come up with every reason possible to not accept it.
Personally, I'm proud of being Christian and bisexual (:

To many people, the fact that they cannot marry or their relatives/friends cannot marry is a big issue...

this whole issue is jacked up dont ya think ? i got married in one state and it counts in every other state , but if i am gay and get married in state "A" , but if we move to state "B" we aint married . either make gay marrige a federal mandate or forget it .

It's not jacked up to those who it affects. And it may not be a big deal to lets say, me, who lives in PA and has 2 states close to her that allow gay marriages. But to someone who doesn't live close to those states, or wants to have all their family attend the ceremony, I could see that being a big deal as well. Though the whole issue is just because gays are deprived of that privelege, not all because it really affects their life. But if people do not make that much of a deal about it, then nothing would change. So it is essential for change to occur, and I believe that it is working to an extent, so I do not disapprove.

what did i say ? your married or your not ...end of story ! if a marrige isnt valid in every state then it aint really a marrige , and if its legal in 2012 whats to say it wont be repealed in 2014 .i always advocate for states rights but in this case a federal mandate on the subject is the only way to settle the matter .

Yes, which is what people are striving for! And they can't just sit back and expect it to be handed to them! They need to work their way up to it, so every state that supports it is a step in the right direction. You are obviously not getting my point, never mind...

Well it's not really about the bedroom, is it? It's about gay couples' right to get married, which is a pretty big issue right now. And with North Carolina passing Amendment 1 and Obama becoming the first president to embrace marriage equality, it's what's on everyone's minds.

What I meant was, it's not about sex. Gay couples can have sex, there's no legislation stopping that. What people are on about right now (as far as I've seen) is their right to get married.

And maybe they DO sleep in the parlor, who are we to judge?

I don't know why. I've known several people who were gay or lesbian over the years. They were some of the sweetest people I've ever known. One was my best friend. "J" would have given the shirt off her back for anyone, and I refuse to believe she is anywhere but in Heaven.

What you mean We?...you would think all of the Christian men claiming they are members of His body and are His Bride would omit its ok to be married to a man like the Son of God as well as let other people make their own decisions.

I think the questions are just because of Obama's statement on gay marriage.
It's being discussed a lot because gays are tired of having to hide their love for each other while straight couples can be openly affectionate and share marriage privileges, so there's been a push for acceptance... people are reacting, good and bad.
