I have a 2007 Ford Edge and it's pretty cool...

None of the above+2That's like asking what was the best dinosaur- there is NO PLACE for SUVs in our modern economy

Don't worry Suki, I'll wave hello as I drive by you while you're filling up your dino SUV
My mom asked whether we should get a car or a "4 wheel drive" for are next family vehicle because "we need 4 wheel drive in Michigan because of the snow". My parents are older so all I can do is think about the old days when driving a "Jeep" as an everyday family car to pick up the groceries was ludicrous and not even imaginable. If I truly need extra traction for the snow I'm getting me a Subaru car. They handle much better than SUVs anyway.
But just because I'm not afraid anymore, does NOT mean I can appreciate nice cars. I still don't like anything other than regular cars with more than 4 cylinders, because everything else just doesn't make sense.

But really, when I see classic cars I hurt all over. Maybe it's because they have inferior brakes and vague steering combined with powerful engines and a lack of seat belts so I imagine having an accident in one and getting cut up by the iron maiden like interior, or maybe it's because I know if I got hit by one on foot I'd be a goner. Before the 60s they didn't even have safety glass for the windows (ouch!). I used to blame the way I crossed the street when I was in high school on today's car designs. "If they didn't look like big pieces of candy maybe I would have better timing when I cross the street".
The thought of vehicles that don't have the restrictions of a modern passenger car is still unsettling for me. I guess I'm down with restrictions in car design, I was like that ever since I first learned to drive. Happy to live in the 2000s.
