What make a great pizza? There are many questions that must be asked and answered, to determine the quintessential pizza list of 2012. If you want to check out the list of the best pizzas of 2012, click on the link below.

According to Fox News, "Maybe great pizza means the use of the freshest ingredients and seasonal toppings? Does it involve a structural integrity to the underlying dough that ensures you can lift a slice without experiencing droopage? Is it an airy, charred cornicione that makes even the most ardent crust-chucker certain not to leave one pizza bone behind? Must it employ artisanal sausage, or does old-school pepperoni count? Does it involve fresh mozzarella? Or just the expert scattering and sauce to cheese ratio of good old-fashioned, low-moisture aged mozzarella and sauce made from canned San Marzano tomatoes? Does a bar pie count? And how do you stack those up against deep-dish pies?!"

Hunger and sobriety. No such thing as a bad pizza at 3:00 a.m. after bar hopping. Besides, bad pizza is like bad sex....it's still pretty good.

The quality of the person preparing it! Never have I been more disappointed with any food than when a body present for the pay check ruins perfectly good ingredients with a don't give a f*ck attitude.

All of the ingredients have to be fresh and quality types. My favorite is a thinner crust with olive oil and garlic for the base, spinach, mushrooms, and fresh mozzarella as toppings. Yummmmy!!!

If there is too much sauce and/or too much cheese it like overpowers the whole pizza. I like when the crust/bread of the pizza is big, soft and fluffy, it tastes more fresh and complete... and you can never have too much pepperoni! lol

Combination of "Dough"(not just structure) and "Sauce Ratio." I can't stand the "school cafeteria" levels of sauce that most places put on a pizza.

It takes a special person with a great recipe for the dough, whether thick or thin crust, the correct ingredients in a sauce (in my opinion-the fewer ingredients, the more flavorfull the sauce), fresh cheese or cheese combination and fresh toppings.

The oven temp matters a big bunch as to how your crust bakes.

I bake my crust 450 degrees for 5 minutes-add the sauce, cheese and toppings then bake until the cheese melts. Great pizza!

I think it is the sauce in general that makes a great pizza. The best pizza I ever had had a peppery sauce and it enhanced the flavor of the toppings. Everything else is personal preference.

If you have great cheese that isn't greasy to the point of needing to blot it is good

If the crust is soggy, burnt or too thick it shouldn't be eaten. Doesn't matter how much sauce or cheese you pour on it, there's no saving a crappy crust.

Everything, the perfect, cheese, sauce, and toppings. The amount and the quality.
Even if it's as simple as a single topping.
