Well, I'm 12 and I am the youngest and I can tell you it's HELL!! My brother is handicapped and even though he's really healthy compared to all the other kids in his "special" school, my mom constantly fusses over him and treats him like her little baby instead of me, but that's just my life. I have a family of 7, which is 5 kids. My oldest brother is 23 and he was my mom's first so he is also fussed over cause he's a wuss. My brother who is 22 is the disabled one and my other 22 year old brother is my dad's and he was never disciplined because my dad was one of those people who weren't ready to have kids. Then there's my sister who's 16 gets away with murder and she's the little angel. So I get the cold shoulder, but hey, that's my situation.

I'm the oldest and let me say it sucks you may have more privileges but you have more responsibilities you have to make sure you are supposed to be a role model for your younger siblings and like with my parents they say that they got some of my bad habits so if they do a certain thing I'll get in trouble for it.

Oldest may get to do and experience everything first but they have to look after the younger one and be a fabulous role model, get the blame, play and entertain them ect. ect. ect. ect. They are expected to work harder and get better marks.

I think being middle child would be the best.

I am the oldest and I always get the blame for everything, my brother is the youngest and if I don't get the blame, he does.
My sister is the middle and she never ever got the blame for anything while she used to be so arrogant, spoiled and selfish as a child =|

    each has their advantages..
as a younger child, their more doted upon and spoiled by parents
as an older child, more freedom, and taken seriously
as a middle child, ... um loved by all

Being the oldest would be tougher cause you have to grow up quicker and you have more responsibilites but at the same time you get to do most things other children cant do. being the middle i dont know. you're like the 2nd oldest. being the youngest(i am the younger one) has its good and bad moments. you get treated like a baby alot but you have alot of growing up to do.

Well, I am the oldest, so I really have no clue what it's like being the youngest to begin with. Plus, because I'm the oldest, I also know what it's like to be an only child, at least for a couple of years. And of course it also means I get to leave the house sooner than my siblings can...then again, that's in a few months now!

Being the youngest child, I might get the blame shifted off of me a lot, but I also get the hand-me-downs and parents tend to try to "fix" what they did wrong the first time around by being a lot more overprotective.

I am the oldest of 3 girls.

    oldest 3 girls

I think the youngest child has it best because they are thought of as the "sweet innocent" one and they are the baby of the family. And by the time they get old enough to party and date, parents have already given up on discipline and they're more easy going...
The oldest is also expected to be more "responsible" and be a "role model" to the younger sibling(s).

Now that's MY opinion. But if you ask a YOUNGER child, they will probably tell you that the oldest gets to have more fun.
But I think it only LOOKS that way because the oldest turns 16 first so they get to have a car and drive around first so the youngest thinks "I never get to have any fun, blah blah blah" BUT the fact of the matter is, THEY'RE JUST NOT OLD ENOUGH!

turns 16 car youngest thinks fun blah blah blah

I think your opinion of who has it better is definately based on whether you are the oldest or youngest.

Then your parents don't quite know how to parent yet, so you get away with soo much. ;)
Plus you get to be in charge. Which is awesome, I love having power!
