That the cub came back later that same day tells me there was a problem with his family or something was chasing him and had him scared and confused.

Bears are my favorite animals ever! I think its funny that a little bear would crash into a school. Bears are usually little trouble makers because they are known as one of the more curious types of animals. The little bugger was just harmlessly checking things out. I kinda wish that would happen to my school.

I love bears! I wish they were actually approachable and huggable. Winnie the pooh was actually based on a bear named Winnie, short for Winnipeg, the city she came from and was named after.

Bears are everywhere around here lately. They wander into cities and towns, onto people's yards and even right onto public beaches. Several of them were shot throughout the summer last year just for being on the beach and the only reason they were there was because they were searching for water and food. It was pretty sad and in my opinion, completely unnecessary. People even hunt them and set up those torturous bear traps.

Several years back we ran a campground in the N. Carolina hills.
Bears raided the trash cans all the time.
I used to chase them off by shouting and clapping my hands.
I must have been crazy(or stupid), but it worked.

Yeah, loud noises usually work to scare them off and all we have around here is black bears and they're known to be quite timid unless of course they have cubs nearby.

I know, I wish they would have tranquilized them and transported them elsewhere. I think they should plant more berry bushes and what not in the surrounding forests and make man-made lakes so they don't have to go looking elsewhere but I know that's ridiculous. In a perfect world, right?
