"It's amazing. I love it here," said a 9-year-old camper named Elle. "With certain people, you have to limit yourself or feel socially obligated. This feels nice to be here and not have to limit yourself and know you won't be bullied or hurt."

This is great. Finally the atheist kids don't have to suffer persecution and bullying from occultist children. And did I mention the secular sleepaway camp rents the area from a Christian camp? Wow! Check out the story and weigh in!

NEWS.YAHOO.COM reports:
From Yahoo! News: Most summer camps host kayaking, arts and crafts classes and campfires, but what makes Camp Quest Northwest different is that it is literally "beyond belief."Located just north of Seattle, Camp Quest Northwest is a summer camp for atheists or children of atheists, self-described "freethinkers" or people not otherwise traditionally religious."We would encourage them to read, to go to church," said Chuck Wolber, one of Camp Quest Northwest's founders. "The best way to become an atheist is to study the Bible, and I definitely recommend the kids do that. ...

We all feel better when we are around people who are like minded. Birds of a feather flock together. I certainly have many friends with whom I disagree on a political basis but It is natural for us to feel empathy and friendship with people who we share a common ideology with.

I can't even imagine, since I am a believer, but it just seems like it would be hard for an atheist to believe in much of anything that matters, and even harder to make a commitment. I guess it also seems like consequences don't really matter to them.

At least it is a place where kids can go without being indoctrinated by a bunch of religious lunatics. Kids are not really concerned with religion anyway unless they are forced to be. Probably because kids are honest and sensible.

That is the thing though, I still feel like it is an indoctrination camp for some reason. They say that this is a camp for freethinkers, but I am not so sure about that. Somehow I don't believe it. True Atheist do not want you to be indoctrinated into Atheism, they prefer you to seek the answers yourself. That is what a free-thinking is.

Atheist tends not to speak about these things leaving the mind to draw its own conclusion. There is no need to have a period of religious indoctrination after having had some fun swimming or cannoning it is just fun in its own right and need not be used as bait to attract the kids to be brainwashed. Atheism is not a religion it is just the title for a state of mind that does not consider god as a realistic proposition.

That is what I am saying. I don't think it is a religion either. But to acculturate youngsters to believe there is no God, is no different than acculturating them to be Christian. I am Atheist, and I became an Atheist by making up my own mind based on evidence presented to me. They just have to be careful and allow children to make up there own minds when they are reading the Holy Doctrines. That is the only thing I can say.
