On our site, we definitely see lots of beautiful parties for babies and toddlers, however, we still see amazingly creative parties for teens. The main difference is the guests are all kids, and the themes are driven by what the birthday boy or girl wants. For example, take a look at these fantastic teen birthdays on our site and see how fun but mature they feel..

I stopped when my daughter turned Sweet 16. After that age she is old-enough to throw her own birthday party..

Why should we stop celebrating the day someone was born? I'm happy they were born, and I'm happy they're still alive.

We have family get togethers for birthdays always. We just had an 18th Bday bash for my daughter. Next week, we're celebrating all the July and August birthdays together at my Dad and Mom's.

Love them year around and if they deserve a reward or if you just feel like giving a gift, you don't need a special day to do so. When they come home from school and want to know why they don't get to have a big blowout birthday party like Tommy, just tell him/her that poor Tommy needs constant reinforcement to feel good about himself, but -you- are special without such nonsense. All party pooping aside, it's up to the parents :)

I don't like the idea at all. Children start to expect a birthday party every year and it become old hat very soon. It fills your house with lots of plastic junk and gets you kid invited to a lot of parties too.. It is good for business buying all sorts of junk made in china but nothing else.

I think personally that they should et something every year but it decreases in the significance.. I would agree with only the major mile stones in ones life, like 18 21 and 50 and stuff like that.

Well... everyone does it differently. When you have kid(s) its hard to throw a party for every birthday every year. I do the "milestones" Ages: 1, 3, 6, 10, 14 and 16. Then maybe 18 and 21, but by then, they really want to hang out with their friends rather than family.
Grown ups don't really celebrate b-days, its just another day. When you get really old, everyday is your birthday (hey, you're still here) :)

I don't have any kids, but my parents stopped throwing me big parties after my 10th birthday. I was allowed to have a few close friends over for a sleepover or go bowling, but that was it.
