At the end of "Doubt," Sister Aloysius is crying because she had doubted her Faith and felt so bad about it. Both the movie and the play convey that even clergy can have their moments of despair. True?

I saw that movie a few years ago.

I was thinking it was because she had doubt about what the Father did to the boy, but it's been a while since I've seen the movie.

I think the ending was open to interpretation. She was so vicious and unbending in her demonization of the priest, I saw it as a hint that God punished her by implanting doubt inside her. He moved away from her in horror of her black heart.
