The final play of the great adventure to the Ashland Shakespeare Festival was As You Like It! Performed in the pouring rain on an outdoor stage, the stage may have been all wet, but the performance was magical. The whole: Costumes, setting, and acting, worked together to make a wonderful performance.
As You Like It has more music in it than any other play of Shakespeare. The music enhanced the setting and mood, as did the fanciful costumes, giant clock, and other staging. I totally enjoyed the performance, in spite of the cold. This one I rate a 9 to 9.5 on a scale of 1-10, or definitely an A performance.

They have rain cloaks for the costumes, but the actors were drenched. At the end of the play, the actresses were changed into wedding dresses for the wedding at the end, and the trains were dragging on the wet stage. It was really the first time it was obvious, unless you looked up at the rain streaming in the lights. Fortunately, our seats were under the balcony overhang, so we didn't get wet.reply - Flamingolady 2012/06/26 02:33:00Glad you had fun, but not for me.+1Sorry it rained.reply

+1I can imagine! Usually, Ashland is pretty warm and sunny, but that Asian typhoon had rain which even spread to the dry parts of Washington, too.reply
