Sure, but most people are going to fork out 700 bucks (God, you can get a pretty good computer for that, or a crappy car) straight away for a new one, when the old one is perfectly capable at phoning someone. Each new phone isn't exactly earth shattering.

Okay, perhaps they don't necessarily suck, but rather they have their heads up their arse. There products are on par with many of todays technological devices, such as tablets, phones, mp3/4 etc, however nothing they make is revolutionary or special in any shape or form...
They overprice there items, sometimes 3x what they are worth but people will buy them and believe they are revolutionary and unique. Critics have dubbed this phenomenon Appels reality distortion field.
I agree with entirely on their overpriced items. There was this idea that the iPhone was going to be a phone for people. Something so simple so easy to use. But at the cost of what price? That was my big issue.
And yes, Apple is too far up their asses about their popularity. I didn't see anything special about iPhones either.
Don't need a phone chained to my person. Being retired means never having to answer a phone if I so choose. In this case buying one with tons of apps that lets me play with a electronic gizmo all day. No thanks not so much.
No don't need one, I have a cell phone that I have only used twice in a year. Lots of people really do get by without being plugged in all the time. Before I retired I had a company cell phone, a two way radio and before that a pager. Many of us like to get away from those things. I have a answering system at home that is good enough.
