Are you tired of all the hate, the judging and condemning of those who are different? Will you stand with me and say "Enough is Enough"!

ANGEL 2012/04/07 04:58:26
http://www.danoah.com/2011/11/im-christian-unless-youre-gay.html

While this article begins by discussing the Westboro Baptist Church and
their "hosting flagrant anti-gay protests", it is not just about some
Christians who condemn homosexuals, but about the hate and disdain of
many different groups and individuals who condemn others, judge others for their
alternative lifestyle, who follow different religious or spiritual
paths, and the self-righteous who disguise their hatred beneath a "
blanket of “caring” or “religious” words."

The article is about showing love and kindness towards people whose life
decisions are different than yours - whether it be religious or someone
who lives an alternative lifestyle etc. The author makes the point
that when you put your arm around those that you might otherwise look
down on, the more you will love yourself. The more you love
yourself, the less you will need to find fault with others. "And the
less we all find fault or have a need to be better than others, the
quicker this world becomes a far better place to live...Use your voice to stand up and declare that there is no other way besides love." Use your voice to say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".

This is about reaching out to people who are gay, who dress differently,
act differently, who are addicts, who fall away from their faith, who
aren't members of the dominant local religion, like the Pagans, Kabbalah, those involved in Scientology, or those who attend the Unitarian Church, etc., to the Atheists, to the Agnostics. Its about being decent and kind.

Here on Soda Head there are people who are dedicated to and find joy in
bringing others down because they don't follow the 'norm'. In my view,
in order to make themselves feel tall, they need to make others seem
small.

One person responded to this article asking "Why can't we just
love one another? What negativity can loving bring us as a
society...Gay, straight, black, white, tall, short, Muslim, or
Christian, we are all brothers in the same world. It's time we started acting like it."

Are you on board? Will you stand with me and say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"? I hope you do.

Angel
You!

Good morning Angel, thanks for the invite to your poll.

I'm with you ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I'm tired of all the hate in the world, I'm tired of all the hate here on Sodahead, all the back stabbers, all the liars who try to hurt others because they are jealous or want to get rid of someone, I'm tired of all the hypocrites who say they are Christian and then proceed to do all the mean things they can think of to hurt others. Quoting scriptures and then doing just the opposite. I'm tired of losing friends because we don't say exactly what they want to hear.

I'm tired of all the jealousy and gossip that goes on for no reason whatsoever other than to make others look bad. I'm tired of people telling you one thing and then doing just the opposite. I'm tired of friends hurting friends and not standing behind them through thick and thin. I'm very loyal to my friends, but I've found that some of my friends aren't loyal to me. And that hurts very much. I was taught to be respectful to my fellow man.

No one cares about others and their feelings. I'm tired of so called friends talking behind backs for no reason at all, other than just to be mean. I'm tired of people who believe lies that are told about someone without any proof whatsoever.

I'm tired of all the wars, I...

I'm tired of all the wars, I'm tired of all the political hate that goes on, no one wants to debate anymore, just to see how much havoc they can cause on here. I'm tired of all the bullies and cowards who cause some to kill themselves, and then laugh about it. I'm tired of those on SH who try to intimidate others. We should watch what we say to others, we never kinow how fragile that other person might be and what they might do to themselves or to lash out at others with guns.

Whatever happened to just being nice and respectful to one another. What ever happened to forgiveness for what's been done? It's all gone.

We should examine ourselves, and our actions on this blessed holiday, ask for forgiveness for those that we have hurt, and try to be civil from now on.

I guess I'm just plain tired of all of it!!!!!

    Have a nice day!

I'm not sure what your point is. No one is taking away your freedoms or talking about legal anything. It is all about freedom of choice - whether you choose to be hateful and condemn others who aren't the same as you are - or to go ahead and go down that road. That is not a road I personally choose to travel.

"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" of THIS type of crap.

    http://www.sodahead.com/livin...
Piss Christ is a 1987 photograph by artist and photographer Andres Serrano. It depicts a small plastic crucifix submerged in a glass of the artist's urine. The piece was a winner of the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art's "Awards in the Visual Arts" competition,[1] which is sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, a United States Government agency that offers support and funding for artistic projects

And you think THIS will bring people closer together? Such egregious intolerance? Why don't you mention the other side and their hatred of normalcy?

And this LOVE speech by Ed Schultz.

Bill - That picture was posted inadvertently and I apologized perfusely. I tried to edit it once it was brought to my attention - but SH didn't allow me to make that change. Still, I sent them a message asking for their assistance and am waiting a response.

I have posted many, many polls on SH - and disrespecting anyone's beliefs is NOT what I am about. Here are other polls I posted on this topic:

“How can we discourage hate speech on Soda Head?” http://www.sodahead.com/livin...

Polls about diversity and unity: http://www.sodahead.com/livin... (Many on this topic).

Even now when I've been told what that picture is about - I look at it and all I see is Christ on the cross in vivid beautiful colors surrounded by what I thought were stars. There is nothing in that picture that could have clued me in that it was offensive. Those pictures do not identify the background or the artist.

I'm so glad you see that the photo is deceptive and that there was no way to know the background. There was one other SH who recognized it and went on a rampage, attacking my character and accusing me of doing this intentionally. I had some private emails with her - but she was intent on thinking the worst of me. So thank you so much for understanding.

SH has responded to my request and the picture has now been deleted. I walk the walk. All the polls I have posted, all of the comments I make, have shown me to be wearing true colors. I am who I represent myself to be. Maybe in the future instead of judging me so harshly and accusing me of being hypocritical, you might talk to me directly and wait for my response. I would have shown you the same respect.

Hmmm. Rather difficult to do since it would be quite an effort to look into all of your posts to see what you are like. Besides, perhaps to your chagrin, many people have purposely published hateful posts (i.e. about Rush Limbaugh) and they don't care to be apologetic in any way. Many posts claim to be about peace and love and tolerance...until it comes to Rush or conservatives. So, please don't judge me too harshly. You could also show me the same respect.

True that you shouldn't be expected to look into my posts. True that people can be hypocritical. I don't see that I disrespected you at all, Bill. I agree to not judge you too harshly - since I know first hand how that feels. My point is that had you just asked me if I knew where that picture came, and given me the background instead of accusing me of "egregious intolerance", I would have appreciated the information and took immediate action to have it edited out. Which is precisely what I did once I was informed.

I wasn't really accusing you of intolerance specifically. I just see the hypocrisy on this site and am amused and disappointed by it. As I said, I can not vet each post so I have to assume that the avatars that you (or anyone else would choose) are the ones they would use to try to get a point across. Many on here are very tolerant of every religion with the exception of Christianity.
Do I want peace and love and the hating to stop? Sure, but I want it on my terms, not theirs. Iran is a prime example. They want a Caliphate to rule the earth at the cost of life and freedom for those that don't conform. Theocracy as a form of government, which ever religion rules, is the worst form of government. And it is futile. As Voltaire said, "It is easier for a man to pick up a spear and conquer the word than it is to get all the people in a small village to think alike." Thus, a democratic-republic should reign. It maximizes freedom for everyone.
If one wants peace, prepare for war. Capitulation and appeasement bring about larger wars and mega-deaths. Witness WWII

In another question you posted about what religion people were raised in, you chose to represent Christianity in your answer choices with a picture of the crucifix immersed in urine.

And then you want to post this question here, lecturing people about respect and not "hating" others?

Of all the pictures you could have chosen to represent Christianity, you just HAD to choose the crucifix-in-urine one???

And to top it off, you did so on the eve of the most holy weekend of the Christian faith. In-freaking-credible.

Here's that question, everyone. This is apparently "Angel's" idea of showing how to love and respect others' beliefs. Except Christianity, that is:

So, what are you saying? That people who believe in (for instance) traditional Catholic or Protestant Christianity are automatically guilty of "hating" people who don't fit our description? That we "find joy in bringing them down"?

That's what it sounds like you're saying.

I have all the love and respect in the world for the dignity of those who, for instance, engage in homosexuality. That doesn't mean I have to celebrate, approve of, or accept their behavior, though.

I'm perfectly capable of separating the sinner from the sin. Especially since I am a sinner myself, just like everyone else is.

This implied idea that you're pushing -- that anyone who believes in anything resembling traditional Judeo-Christian morality is somehow automatically a "hater" -- is an exercise in the very sort of intolerance that you claim to be opposing.

If you're gay, then yes, I love you. I don't have to love your behavior, though. As a Roman Catholic Christian, I am willing as well as obligated to treat you with dignity, love, and respect -- but I am under no obligation whatsoever to like or approve of your lifestyle. See the difference?

Never have I seen a bizarre cult of several people get elected 'Head of Christianity' by so many non-Christians (and anti-Christians' and then flown about used as the example as the Wesboro Baptists (funded by liberal progressives??)

But there is no 'enough is enough'. Most Christians and others who love homosexuals are doing the right and loving thing by trying to help them out of that behavior, get themselves sorted and maybe even healed enough of to experience awesome heterosexual relationships.

But the world is still full of haters. Who not only love doing perversion but actually getting glee and satisfaction in encouraging others to do it and keep doing it more. Sick.

Until I joined Sodahead I did not realize there were so many mean trash talking people. Many people have just quit the site due to all the insults they got on here. It is best to ignore these people but difficult at times. Some are just here to pick a fight with someone, and have nothing of value to add to the questions. I see lots of cyberbullying from groups who will swarm on someone in the news and politics section. Those are the people who will not post on this, and don't want to stop being mean. The block feature thins those out for me if they continue bullying or crudely insulting. If everyone said enough is enough this would be a far better place to be and share opinions. At least we can hope for it.
