I only speak when I have something important to say. I'm also judging the hell out of you.

I'm somewhere in the middle. I listen, and am fully capable of being a good, active listener, but most of my conversations are with my husband, and he hates talking. I do a ton of reading and independent studying so I have a lot of things to talk about, and talking out loud to someone helps me work through problems and emotions.

I find it odd that most people picked listener, because if there's one problem I've noticed it's that people, on average, don't do nearly enough listening, but instead are constantly struggling for their turn in conversations. I know some people who aren't talkers, but I also know that in conversations with 3 or more individuals it's almost always a barrage of interruptions and talking over one another. I tend to be really quiet in those conversations, despite my love of talking and communicating, because I just get way too annoyed with the conversation dynamic.

Face it. Most people are talkers, not listeners. I know I certainly don'r care what you have to say......

I'm the friend that is turned to in times of need that will give a short honest opinion, doesn't resolve the problem because she believes it's something you must learn to do and not be able to blame another for the outcome in case of it being negative, and I tell them if I think it's a pointless problem. If they have a story, I'll listen, laugh along, sometimes share a couple of similar incidents or comments on it.
I'm adabtable to the atmosphere of the conversation, if it is serious I refrain from making remarks that I believe would upset and if these are necessary to my opinion on the conversation I do it in a subtle way in which you don't notice I'm saying something negative about it and therefore actually consider it.

I am never at a loss for words. I usually am the one to start a conversation but I don't try to dominate it. I am a good listener too and I remember names, faces and often parts of conversations I have had with them. I've always been like that. I could walk into a place I've never been to before and come out with a new friend in half an hour. Drives my wife crazy.

until it becomes a long strand of jabber, In which case, the conversation is wasting both of our times. (not applicable when the conversation is just venting.)
