Not at all, in fact it excites me. Nothing makes me happier during a good rain storm than seeing a flash of lightning and hearing the sky scream. I especially love being outdoors during a storm, staring at the sky and shouting for more thunder and lighting to come. If I want to get a picture of the lightning though, I stay indoors for that.
When I was little it fascinated me; today its insightful and amazing to watch and be a part of. Sitting outside on the tailgate of my dad's truck, with a few sodas, and maybe an ipod? Yeah :) Perfect days/nights.
No, Years ago my wife and I was at her brother and his wife's house and it was storming. Her brother and I were drinking. We had a pot of corn on the cob cooking on the electric stove. We were sitting at the kitchen table next to the stove talking and drinking. All of a sudden, lightning came through the window in the next room. It broke all the glass in the window and knocked the woodwork off around the window and threw it across the room. It got into the wiring, went to the fuse box, jumped to the 220, blew all the fuses and a big white ball came out the burner, the corn was cooking on. It burnt the burner into in 4 different places. If you are where lightning strikes, the thunder is there at the same time and it is super loud. My brother in law and I quit drinking for the night.
Like my daughter's in-laws from Tampa, I love the Tampa Bay Lightning.
That is what you meant, isn't it?
I recently had the pleasure of sitting on the beach and watch a lightning storm in the distance.
