I am not in the least religious. But here is a thought for you. The Idea that any supreme being would be bothered creating the human race the animals and all that surrounds us with built in hate and desire and then does nothing with his time but instruct us to abuse each other seems ridiculous to me. So let’s start a new belief one where we accept that people are not perfect and that happiness is not assured but will come to us eventually as we learn the nature of truth and just to make us feel good lets have a soul that progresses from body to body or from lesson to lesson so to speak. The concept describes God as the sum total of everything and no part of God is any less important or unimportant then any other part. With this basic line of thought you can’t end up with a god that is patently stupid like all the religions gods.
The fact is though that I would not have a clue, And if there is nothing there is nothing to fear because at the moment I die I might just as well not have ever been born.

Thank You I was very involved in thought and discussion about these things when I was younger. The thought of death scared me a lot, so I simply put reason to work and came up with my present attitude. There is no way to know but there is also no point in being overly concerned about the inevitable. Unless you are religious because then, evil abounds everywhere.

Better be! Hell is a reality and promises a hideous eternity. Conversely, Heaven is a reality and promises incredible joy in eternity. One must give their heart to Jesus, or face the consequences...

My "fate worse than death" would be no death. To live in fear of inevitable death is to waste aspects of our miraculous lives. “There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Al Einstein

I think we will all end up in this waiting room, and once you are called, you end up in another waiting room.

I am not scared of dying. Dying is a natural process of living, Not sure what will happen but most likely will be a better place than you were in. My father died after he was paralyzed from two strokes, a major infection, and dementia. Where ever he is now has to be better than slowly wasting away. I just hope when the time comes Assisted suicide will be available.

No,I'm not afraid of dying. Most people who are dying are ready for it. They're not scared, so why shoul;d I be?

I've witnessed people who are dying. They don't concern themselves wth the BS we do. They want to go. They're ready. They don't care about why or how. They just are ready.

I believe I will just "return to the dust" as they say in religion. I consider myself Wiccan, though I don't fully agree with any one religion.
