No, it'd be darn boring and I'd never be exposed to anything new to spur personal growth and experience. I've always been fascinated by the vast array of cultures and beliefs around the world.

But there is no doubt that we all enjoy the company of people who are like mined because they validate what we believe in without having to explain yourself.

I like hanging with a diverse group. If all my friends thought the same as I - there would be nothing to talk about!

Of course not. I'm very open about my beliefs too, have debated a few times with my friends but usually we just end up agreeing to disagree and moving on.

Oh, my goodness, no. Very few of my friends think as I do.

I'm an activist agnostic atheist. My best friend piddles around with what church she attends but she's a Christian. Another friend is a Mormon. My family are various flavors of Christianity. On SH, two of the people I most respect are a Pagan and a Scientologist.

Different spices can tickle your taste buds.

I have an old dear friend who is as hard core right wing Christian as they come, let's just say we disagree on a lot of things - and it makes no darn difference in our friendship. Never has.....never will.

I think in the grand scheme of things, yes. There will be no one who shares all, or even the majority of the same beliefs as I do. But it would be even more incorrect to say I enjoy having friends who share few same beliefs as me. In the end, we are attracted to people who agree with us, agree with, or at the very least, we are tolerant of their views. Friends mean someone that is close, not just an acquaintance or someone you talk to.

You just are not going to meet that many people that share your beliefs....To really be good friends you just need to hit the right balance of shared views and opposites

I'm only friends with people who'll respect my beliefs.
You're talking to a very queer lady who's had multiple homophobic friends, the key is mutual respect.

No, but the people at my church do that so they never include me in anything. It made me so depressed that I no longer go. I tried joining the choir, but they said no and I would come every Wednesday and help with the elementary students. I always tried to be apart of my church, but when it came to events I was never invited. Not even to birthday parties or graduation parties....
