I am worse off, it distracts me too much. If I am working hard on something and am listening to music, it's too difficult for me to pay attention to what I have to do.

White noise as a steady, unvarying, unobtrusive sound, as an electronically produced drone or the sound of rain, used to mask or obliterate unwanted sounds. For me, certain kinds of music act as white noise and calm my brain for study, relaxation or sleep.

Oh thank you for explaining Frank ... and great to see you too... I love the sound of a good steady rain, especially if cuddled up and comfy ... something about the rain that is just soothing (unless you're caught in it.. teehee) ....
Are you folks dying in the heat down there ... Lordy Lordy it's hot here .. hurry up Fall, so I can get out and enjoy myself ... maybe a day at the park with a special friend ...

Nope for me , i am very easily distracted , especially when what is in front of me is work, i will let my mind find anything else to focus upon rather than do the expected work. So Nope for me , give me a job to do and as few visual and aural distractions as possible

I get inspired when I listen to music....amazing how much cleaning I can get done. I am listening to music as I type this....so I am being productive....lol

I can be sometimes i guess, but other times i can't be productive. Music grabs my attention fully to the point that i will end a deep conversation in mid convo to figure out what the song is or to listen to the lyrics. I can't even sleep to music because i would be listening. Music takes away my productivity because i love it sooo much lol.

To do something Physical such as house cleaning or if I am working out music definately helps. At my job at work it is a monotinous job where brains are not needed, just good eye hand cordination so music would be a plus. If it is to write a letter or requires much thought I would rather not have anything besides instumentals.
