Yes I have mastered the art of haggling but the cashiers at the grocery store are getting pissed!!! LOL They turn their lights out when they see me coming, trying to force me into the self-check out line! :)
ALTHO, at WalMart, if you know that a product is less at another store, they will give you the difference. I did it a few weeks ago with Tide detergent and they didn't require an advertisement to prove that it was cheaper at Acme. It might be different in each store but the girl told me that if it's a few dollars, they'd rather you buy it there...and I didn't want to do the extra travel for $1.98 savings so it was win-win.

I grew up much my life in China, what do you think? Over there they haggle over anything and everything, it's basically a game for them.

Everything is worth what you are willing to pay, that doesn't mean the owner will sell it for that amount.

If I'm not satisfied I walk away and about 10% of the time I usually get a counter offer.

I've never shopped at an antique store. Which is the only place I can imagine haggling working in this country.

You can haggle at Costco, Target, etc. Any retail store is relying on you paying what they want you to pay, not the price they are willing to sell it for.
